The sole of his shoes crunched against the stone grazed earth.

Droplets of rain fell unto Adeel's shirt.
This was the third day of rain, causing most roads to be blocked or flooded.

However, unable to stay home for more than a day due to boredom, Adeel had insisted on going to work.

Much to Gulab Khan's protests.

He had filled in empty hours by watching the rain pour outside his office window and clicking his pen on the table.
It had pouring for three days, it was almost like bloody England.

Adeel shut the car door quickly, desperate to get inside, protected from the rain.

"Adeel saab!" He heard Gulab Khan call out.

He turned around to see his servant run towards him in the pouring rain, a unusual grin settled on his face.

"Yes, Gulab Khan?" Adeel raised an eyebrow.

"You are not going to believe this! Allah has truly blessed us today, come inside." Gulab Khan exclaimed.

"What?" Adeel asked, confused.

"You'll see, saab. Just come inside!" The servant laughed, walking back towards the house.

Adeel left his car, knowing that Gulab Khan would put it in the garage later, and followed behind.
He wondered what on earth was the man so happy about.

He quickly wiped his shoes on the mat at the front door and went in to the sitting room.

And for a moment, his heart stopped beating.

Once Adeel's vision crossed past Gulab Khan's ecstatic face, he met eyes with the person that hunted him everywhere.

It was her.

She was wearing a blue and black salwaar kameez, one that Adeel had seen her wear before, with tiny earrings.
Her face was the same rosy pink, with wide brown eyes and naturally cherry kissed lips.

Time hadn't faltered her beauty.

As Adeel took a few brave steps forward, he knew that this was not one of his dreams.
The grin on his servant's face completely defied that possibility.

"Assalamualaikum, Adeel." Rana bravely spoke first.

"A-a-assalamualaikum, Rana." He shakily responded.

"I'll go get tea." Gulab Khan said, quickly running towards the kitchen, but not before Rana noticed him wiping the corner of his eye.

"How are you?" Rana asked.

Adeel didn't have an answer, he didn't know how he was or how he felt.
After four months spent in void, with only the hope Rana coming back to him through, he didn't how he felt.

He'd thought that if she ever returned, there would a celebration of some sort, fireworks within him.

But now that it was actually happening, he just felt shivers of fear run through him.

"I'm good." He lied. "And what about you?"

"I don't know Adeel." She replied, in the same words that he wanted to say.

"Are you here for long?" Adeel asked, unable to find a word more suitable for forever.

"I don't know. I guess it's up to Allah if we manage to do this right, this time round." She avoided eye contact as she said this.

Adeel didn't like the thought of loosing her again, but he knew that he never quite had her.
But Allah had been merciful, and he was not going to waste his second chance.
