Chapter 7

I let out a happy squeal. "Thank you so much Bee! I can't repay you enough for this." I said, hugging his finger.

"So we don't have to wait until your eighteen?" Raf asked. I shook my head with a smile.

Bee laughed. "Of course. I'm supposed to be your guardian, right? But why wait until she's eighteen?" He added.

"Because by law, a child is an adult once they turn eighteen years old. We're allowed to rent or buy a house and do a whole lot of other stuff. I was going to move out on my birthday and fight to take custody of Raf." I explained.

"Well, you can forget that now. Don't worry I'll make sure you guys have everything you need." Bumblebee said.

"Thank you so much." I whispered and hugged his chest plates. Just then Raf yawned. I looked at him to see his eyes drooping a bit.

"You wanna go to sleep?" I asked.

He nodded and I led him to the couch. I laid him down on the cushions and stroked his hair a bit. "Will you sing to me?" He asked as he turned on his side, facing me. I nodded. "Any requests?" He shook his head and closed his eyes. I took a deep breath and started singing Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift.

"I remember tears streamin down your face as I said I'll never let you go.
When all those shadows almost killed your light.
I remember you said don't leave me here alone
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

You and I'll be safe and sound." I paused to catch my breath, then continued.

"Don't you dare look out your window

The war outside our door keeps raging on

You'll be alright, no one can hurt ya now
Come mourning light, you and I'll be safe and sound." I closed my eyes and started singing the 'woo's'. I didn't sing the next verse because when I looked down to see Raf sound asleep. I leaned down and kissed his forehead.

"Sweet dreams, baby brother." I whispered. I got up from my crouch next to the couch and stretched my back.

"You know you're really good at that." I jumped, forgetting Bee had been standing there, watching. I walked over and leaned on the railing, craning my head up to look him the eye.

"Good at what?" I asked.

"Singing." He answered. I shook my head with a smile.

"I don't hear anything special. I just know that it calms Raf down easily. And I love singing. It was the only thing that kept me sane before Raf was born." I said.

"You wanna go for a drive? There's some stuff I'd kind of like to talk to you about." Bumblebee said.

I nodded. He turned to his alt mode and opened the door for me. He then drove out of the old silo base. We were out in the dessert just driving in silence. I soon recognized where exactly I was.

"Hey Bee. Could I have control of the wheel for a bit?" I asked.

He hesitated but then confirmed. I turned off road and started driving. "Where are we going?" He asked.

"To see someone." I said.

"What? Bella you know I can't show myself to humans." He said, panic hiding in his words.

"Don't worry. You won't have to show yourself. Just trust me." I said. He complied and I drove to a rock formation. It was shaped like a ballerina. I stopped and got out of Bee. I heard him transform and seen the light from his head lights. It was night now, it had been just past sunset when we left.
