I looked down at my hands again, not knowing what to do.

"Izzy?" Rose said.

I looked up at her, waiting.

"You probably have a few questions. But let me explain a bit. Your mind blocked the memories. My death was too painful, and the memories of the powers we shared were too much. You got very sick, you would have died, it was your body's way of survival." She said.

I hesitated. "I can do all that?"

She nodded. "You have very strong powers inside you. They're still there, you just haven't used them in a while. Would you like to try something?"

I stared at her wide eyed. "I don't know if I can."

"Of course you can. Trust me. Trust yourself." She smiled encouragingly.

I took a deep breath. "How do I do it?"

"Concentrate. To shift, imagine yourself as the animal you want to be. To use our elemental powers, you must will them to come to you." She explained.

I nodded. I closed my eyes thought of one of my favorite animals. When I opened my eyes, everything was in a different point of view. I looked down to see paws where my feet should have been. I heard everyone in the base gasp, but I paid no attention as I looked over my new body. It was long and lean, with a long, flexible tail. I swiveled the ears on top of my head, to get the feel of it. I was a leopard.

"See? Told you you could do it." Rosie smiled.

I looked up at my twin, trying to decide if I could speak human. I didn't get to think long, because I felt something I can only explain as mental flood to my senses. Smells overwhelmed me, my eyesight blurred slightly, then came back strikingly clear. I pulled my lips back and let out a hiss and a frightened mrrow and took a few steps back, lowering my head, almost pressing my face to the ground as my tail whipped behind me. I let out another hiss by accident and I heard the humans take a step back.

"It's okay, it's okay. It's just your senses coming back." Rosie tried to calm me. I shifted back and fell on my butt. My chest heaved as I panted, eyes wide.

"Oh my god.." I muttered.

"Yeah, it can be a bit overwhelming, huh?" Rosie chuckled.

A gave her a look. "A bit? That was like a metaphorical hit to the head with a flying dumpster!" I panted.

She, and a few others, laughed at that. "Other than that, how do feel?" She helped me up.

"I feel different but the same. Everything feels different but the same." I looked around.

"This was my eyesight? Holy crap." I looked around, everything was so clear!

Rose smiled. "How about your sense of smell?" She questioned.

I closed my eyes and took a whiff. "Smells like...home." I couldn't find any other word to describe it.

Rosie smiled widely at that. "That is the correct answer."

She clapped and I jumped at the loud sound. "Okay, we should give your senses a chance to re-accommodate. We'll try your other powers later, there's more to do here." She turned away.

I looked at her line of sight to see all the humans staring, their mouthes open. "I've been waiting a while to finally meet you for real." Rosie walked up to Raf.

"..f-for real? You've met me before?" He asked.

She nodded. "You've seen me before, but you were a baby. Too young to remember. You probably thought I was Bella. We do get mixed up a lot." She giggled.
