"One childish act and a pinch of greed has no spot for the throne whatsoever. Remember that, Augustus Presley,"

The earl quickly mentions me to follow him as he went inside. I hold the girl in my arms as she struggles from my grasp. I knew that the lord had already fallen in heels with this girl in just a mild second.

I knew it already when he had to stare at the little girl then back at me. He never gave a second to look at the girl. Though, he would also not admit his true feelings about others.

He would simply ignore it and move on.

"Let me go Nicholas. Please!" the girl struggled in my arms as I just sighed before pulling her towards the castle. I couldn't stand seeing her being a captive, so, I stopped and looked back at her.

"I'm sorry my lady but it's the earl's order. I cannot disobey him," I said as I took her hands and looked at her in the eyes. She then hugged me before answering.

"Then do it for me," she said as she looks into my eyes. There, I saw her begging. Her brown eyes stared at me like she was begging for me to release her. Knowing that she was still a young girl, I knew that she should never experience this. Being held as a captive for an earl that is.

"Then do me a promise my lady," I said as I calmly let her go. She stares at me with curiosity before she nodded and asked me.

"What is it?" her question made me smile very widely. Not in a creepy way though.

"Promise me that we will see each other again. Promise me that you will see me again." I saw her gulped before answering me.

"Nicholas..." she trailed off as I then grabbed her hands and genuinely smiled at her.

"Will you promise me that, Anne?" she looks down at our hands before looking back at me.

"For you, I will." she then kissed my cheeks before she ran off. Her hair flowed as she ran much farther and away from me. I then saw her retreating back to the castle, giving me one last glance and waved. I then returned a smile.

Then, I quickly turned back and followed the earl, walking inside on the opposite where Anne went. Let's just hope he falls for my act.

I saw Nicholas quickly turning back to the castle as I calmly looked at him. He was a butler and a good guy and yet I can't help myself to be curious while around him. I wonder if the earl is nice like him. After all, he didn't make a great first impression towards me.

I quickly ran to the back door of the castle and saw Quincy washing the dishes. I ran over to her and tugged on her dress. She looked down to me and smiled, stopping for a while from washing the plates.

"Oh, hello again, Miss Anne. Do you want to see Brice?" She told me as she looks back and quickly dries the wet plates. I then nodded after she glanced back at me.

"Oh, Brice is currently busy right now. He's currently talking to the Earl right now," she said as she quickly noticed something on my hair.

"Is there a bug on my hair, Quincy? I haven't even touched William yet," I said as I mentioned my pet beetle's name. She quickly giggled before waving my statement off.

"Oh dear, it appears you have a secret admirer my lady," she said as she took a rose from my hair. I just widened my eyes as she gave it to me. I twirled the rose in my fingertips, looking at the dark red rose in admiration.

The thing is, I never picked any rose.

I tapped my feet annoyingly in the cold, tiled floor in the castle as I wait for Nicholas. I looked around and saw Brice leaning on a wall of the center room.
