-I, Vanessa Caleska, vow to protect bla bla bla... MOM?

-Yes?

-Why do we have to move?

I already know the answer to my question; because it is about the seventh timed I asked it. So why am I moving? Since dad's death, mom wanted to start fresh and leave the past where it belonged. She found this creepy house near a creepy park with creepy neighbours. Yay. It can't be that bad... for all I know that house is like 200 years old. Creepy. It's pretty huge, we'll practically get lost in it, or at least I will. I get the big room, and again the creepiest. What's up with all that creepy? Will I ever stop? I don’t think so. I can already hear the rumble of the truck outside as well as the wet smell of this warm and rainy summer day. Yuck. I say my goodbyes to my beloved house where my childhood will remain in good hands, or at least I hope it will. Mom gets the car ready as soon as I step outside. I can hear the weird squishing sound under my black flower patterned rain boots. I haven't quite described myself. Let me present I to you. I'm Vanessa Caleska, brunette, chocolate coloured eyes, medium tanned skin. 5"3, 10 fingers and 10 toes, one nose, two eyes, two ears and one mouth. I'm not much of a risk taker, but I’m most definitely the athletic type. I'm pretty bossy and a loner at school; my friends are narrowed to my one and only best friend Kayla, which I also leave behind by moving. How sad is my life? Actually, I'm a pretty happy person.

The time it takes to realize that we arrived; the house is already filled with our boxes. I take a look out the window of our mini van and start feeling scared and small as the dark and mystical house stands before me. The car's door opens without even having to force. I can already feel the chills and the creeps climbing my back as I walk towards the door. I walk pass an iron fence like the one we see in scary movies. What if this a movie? Better not be. I hate those movies where the girl is way too scared for no reason. I mean, can't you see you're going to die one day or another? Might as well let it be today! Let's get back to me walking inside my new home. So apart from the house looking way too much like the hunted houses in movies, it’s not that bad. Rotten grass, abandoned wood house, crows in the pine trees, iron fence, and a tiny forest in the back. Nope, nothing weird here.  The door is a brownish black colour worn off by the years. The first thing I notice when walking in is the gigantic chandelier hanging from the dark brown ceiling. The walls are covered with ripped wallpaper of many dark colors. The giant windows look like they are about to crack and there is salt everywhere. I guess the people before liked salt. I decide to go straight up to my room to avoid the fear to install itself into my body again. The stairs make this awkward sound whenever I step on them, almost like a broken piano, a very, very, very broken piano. The hallway on the second floor is pretty decent; it’s actually cool. The light brownish beige floor fits with the white walls and ceiling. The small lights in the ceiling make me feel like I'm one of Victoria Secret's models. The door to my room is not easy to miss; it has the name Vanessa on it. I walk into my room and freeze. It might be the less scary room in the house. I have a bunk double bed without the lowest bunk. The green and blue covers of my bed makes the brown walls in my room stand out. Under my bed is a table with a new computer and a transparent chair. There is a blue carpet with a sofa in front of a 42-inch TV. My wardrobe is practically a walk in and to top it off I have my own private bathroom. This is just amazing!

Its already 11:30pm when I decide to go to sleep; as I have to wake up at 6:00am tomorrow for school. Life is so cruel!

I hear the buzzing of my annoying alarm. Going on and on and on and on, all without stopping. It takes a while before I decide to actually get up to get ready. I walk down the stairs as if this house was the other. I head straight to the kitchen. I'm too lazy and tired too feel any fear at this moment and looking like a zombie I walk past my mom without a word.

- Good morning miss grumpy shoes!

-MOM!

-What?

-Leave. Me. Alone.

-Marry had a little lamb, little lamb, Marry had a little lamb...

-MOM!!!! I'M NOT SIX ANYMORE!!!

-Twinkle twinkle little star, oh how I wonder where you are...

-OMG! NO RESPECT MOM! Gosh, adults these days.

I get my bowl of rice crispies as always and head straight up to my room. After eating I take a hot and relaxing shower and get ready. I chose to wear a cute little pink-orange dress with flower patterns and some small wedges. As for my makeup and hair, I keep it simple, a bit of concealer and powder and mascara all with a little black bow in my hair, centered in the back. I hop into my brand new mini cooper; I've had it since I got my driver's licence at 16, which is like a year ago or so. I drive in this weird and silent neiberhood. Sometimes I think no one actually lives in the houses next to ours. It takes me about 25 minutes to arrive. I take a spot in the far end of the parking, as I am one of the first. The school is normal. Old, but normal. The doors wooden and the walls made of bright red bricks some darkened by time. I head in and in conclusion I also am the first one except for the principal and secretary. I head to the principal's office to get this paper for some random reason. Anyway the principal's name is Miss Odecaky. Weird.

-Hellos miss Caleska.

-Um… Hello Miss Odecaky... I'm Vanessa....

-Enough said. You are in class 1208. You are starting in science; now please leave my office before I kick you out myself.

-Yes Mam.

-MISS ODECAKY. Not MAM. NOW LEAVE!

There these people who just can't stand teens. Well that was fun. I walk toward my locker; sadly I happen to be sharing it with some kid. I never dreamed of sharing my locker for the simple reason that I have to socialize with a random person. Luckily there is only one guy in the lockers. Sadly he is at my locker. I walk towards him ignoring the fact that he is not all that ugly.

-Um... sorry?

-Yes? Said the cute guy with his blue eyes sparkling.

-Um this is kind of my new locker...

-Vanessa right? Please make yourself at home, and I promise I won't leave my stinky sport clothes in the locker.

-You better not, and how do you expect me to make myself at home... it's a locker. If there's one thing I hate is humour and right now his eyes are really distracting.

- Hey, I'm Brandon, and you could at least smile.

-And you could at least leave me alone. Thank you.

-Someone is in a bad mood.

-Someone is in a good mood. Now move your butt.

With that last sentence he leaves and the rest of my days goes normally. I go to bed at 11:30pm again since I actually get to wake up at 7:00 am tomorrow.
