(sasuhina) why cant we be?

chapter 5-just maybe...

Previously: the villagers tortured Sasuke in order to get rid of their hatred. Hinata cleaned his wounds and they comforted one another with a hug and fell asleep in each other's arms.

Hinata slowly opened her eyes only to find herself in her room. She thought that maybe everything that happened was just a dream. She slowly tried to get up and thats when hanabi barged into the room.

"Elder sister you're OK" hanabi said with happiness written all over her face. "Yeah but what do you mean? Did something happen?" Hinata felt a bit confused. Was everything that happened real after all? "Yesterday you went to go see Sasuke at his cell and then the next thing I know is that captain yamato brought you home out cold."

'So I guess it wasn't a dream after all' Hinata thought to herself. "Wait a second! Where's Sasuke?!" Hinata asked panicking. "Relax he's fine, his free." Hanabi smiled. Hinata felt happy and tears were threatening to fall.
"Oh and I almost forgot to tell you but someone wanted to meet you at the park."
"Really? Who?" Hinata felt confused.
"Who knows....well anyway you should get dressed and go see for yourself."

Hinata hurriedly went to take a quick shower and get dressed. She wore her usual simple outfit she always does. She immediately headed to the park feeling bad for making the person wait. When she got there she saw Sasuke staring at the sky in amusement. She felt her heart stop instantly. Just the sight of him out in the light and free made her all the more happy. Sasuke then turned around and smiled at her warmly like he knew she was there the whole time.

Hinata couldn't help it and so she ran up to him with tears in her eyes and hugged him tight. Sasuke felt more then comforted by her hug, but it was like he was expecting it. Just feeling her warmth made his heart beat a !million times faster.

Hinata kept on crying from relief and happiness on sasuke's chest. She gripped on his clothes to try and contain all her emotions. She slowly began calming down and simply let her arms stay around him as she drifted into thought with the right side of her head on his chest. She could hear his heartbeat beating extremely fast but she couldnt tell why.

Sasuke was feeling unusually happy. It wasn't something he was used to. He didn't want her to let go of him. He felt like simply spending one second in that position was more worth it than living for a thousand years in happiness. He didn't want to face what he was feeling. He didn't know what to feel during times like this, he was clueless. All he knew was that he had never felt anything like it before.

Sasuke simply smiled warmly and he slowly used his hand to softly Pat her head and without even thinking he kissed her hair softly at the top while she still had her face burried on his chest.  He kept his face on her head for a little longer and took in the scent of her lavender hair as the wind blew past them. He didn't want to accept or deny his feelings. He simply let it run free and let it do whatever it wanted him to. He couldn't fight it, he didn't want to fight it. He liked it and he liked it a lot.

"Hey hyuga...."
Hinata looked up at him slowly releasing him from her hug to hear what he wants to say. "Try not to fall asleep will you..." Sasuke said tapping her head softly again. Hinata started blushing deep red. Sasuke looked at her stunned. He had never seen her blush before, and knowing that it was because of him, somewhat made him happy. Hinata tried to look away due to how embarrassed she feels. She always knew how Sasuke made fun of people, especially naruto, but this time it was different. He tapped her head making her heart beat faster.

'Why did he tap my head I don't get it' Hinata thought as she started blushing more. Sasuke just stared at her.

Then all of a sudden she heard him laugh softly like he was trying not to laugh but had to at least let some of it out. "You know hyuga, you look just like a tomato. I don't think I've seen anyone so red before." He said, still trying to suppress his laughter. Hinata felt more embarrassed and so she let her head fall on his chest to hide her face. Now it was sasuke's turn to blush. He felt his heart racing knowing she did that. He then started smiling warmly again.

"Sasuke may I ask why you're being nice to me all of a sudden. Just a few days ago you told me you hate me." Hinata said as she simply kept her head on his chest to wait for him to reply.
Sasuke wasn't surprised at all by her words.

"That's why I asked you to come here....... I'm not really someone who would treat others with care or respect at all, but when you came along, you still cared for me, it made me angry at first, but when I saw you cry for me when I was in pain........ It hurt me more than anything. I didn't know why I was angry at first but now I know that it's because of the fact that you care for me. It makes me angry because........ It somehow makes me care for you too, you make me feel things I don't understand and it drives me nuts. You cared for me hyuga, and you forced my life to somehow be used for protecting you till I die. Don't get me wrong, I would do the same thing for naruto and sakura, but with you it's different. Seeing you happy makes me happy. It's stupid really, but no matter how stupid it is I know that my body will move on its own to protect you. I was rude to you and I understand if you're angry with me for it-"

Hinata shook her head."I'm not angry at all Sasuke. I was just sad that you hated me. But now it's having the opposite effect. I'm happy because at least now you don't hate me anymore." Hinata said as she smiled a warm smile.

'This girl.....' Sasuke thought. He couldn't believe how much kindness she showed him. "Thank you hyuga" Hinata simp!y nodded. Hinata understood sasuke's pain and she would never hate him for what he did in the past.

"Say.......do you know where you're going to live now Sasuke?"
"Well......the hokage told me I can go back to the uchiha compound if I wanted to and honestly I do want to go back there. It's where my people lived and I plan on keeping it that way. But it's still rather dirty so I'll have to clean it later." Said Sasuke.
"Well then why don't we rather clean it now I can help you with it so don't worry about it ok."
"Hyuga it's fine I can do it later." Sasuke said as he gently placed his hand on her head. "And besides.......I want to spend today with you if that's ok." Hinata started blushing deep red.

"You know hyuga I actually really like tomatoes." Sasuke said smirking as he began walking away. "Well are you coming or not?" He asked as he kept on walking. Hinata then immediately ran toward him but before she knew she tripped, and just before she could hit the ground, she fell on Sasuke instead. "I told you my body would move on its own to save you no matter what sort of danger you're in." Sasuke said as he took his hand and placed the side of her hair behind her ear while she was still on top of him. Hinata then began blushing. "You're just making fun of me" Hinata said as she giggled.

"Actually it's both" Sasuke smirked, he could tell she was nervous in that position so he slowly began to sit up.

"Sasuke.....thanks" Hinata said as she starred at the ground. ".....don't mention it"

Yayyy! Here's the new chapter! I'm sorry if it took long but you see I'm busy with exams so its kinda hard for me to update. Anyway I hope you forgive me and I will try to update soon.
