Previously: Hinata heard about how the villagers treated Sasuke and so she decided to go and visit him to show him that there are still people who cared for him. She made Sasuke food but due to the distrust within himself he threw it to the ground in anger.

Yamato stared at Sasuke wondering what he thinks Hinata was here for. Yamato already knew Hinata was there because she cared. He really wanted to know what Sasuke thought of her previous presence.

Hinata got home only to find her father and a few other elders looking really angry at her as she walked past them pretending not to notice. They didn't do anything to her. They simply warned her not to do it again. She didn't reply she just kept on walking.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hinata didn't care about the warnings they were giving her. She still made food for Sasuke for the second time. She did it because she cared for him but she didn't know why. She hardly spoke to him and she is certain he doesn't know her. But some part of her wants her to care for him and make sure his ok. She thought maybe it was because she loved naruto and Sasuke was his best friend, or maybe because of her kind personality which she seems to think of as a weakness she can't and does not want to overcome. But she couldnt exactly put it together.
Hinata felt nervous as she walked under the shining sun on her way to the uchiha's prison. She didn't know how to explain why she was there when she herself didn't know the answer. She simply wished he wouldn't ask her why.
When she got to the prison she saw Sasuke seated in the same position as before. His back against the wall as he stared at the opposite direction with a cold look on his face. This time hinata came earlier then the last time. The last time she came when the sun was setting but this time she came when the sun was at its highest point.
Sasuke could now perfectly see her bodily features. He stared at her thinking about how she looked very similar to his mother whom he loved and respected more than any other woman in the world. Her long beautiful lavender hair and pale soft skin. The way she smiled and held the bento box with both her hands. It all reminded him of his mother.
He felt a slight bit of calmness in his heart when she smiled. His mom was simply the perfect woman, and he would never in a million years believe that someone would actually come as close as Hinata to resemble her so much.
Sasuke, for no good reason forced himself to feel anger toward the hyuga girl for resembling his mother so much. In his perspective no one should resemble his mother. She was one of a kind and she should remain one of a kind forever. He started feeling anger toward hinata and used the fact that she looked and slightly acted like his mother as an excuse to hate her. He simply didn't want to get too close to her due to the resemblance she shared with the only woman he ever loved.
Hinata noticed the spilled contents of food on the floor. She immediately recognized that it was the food she had brought for the uchiha the precious day. She felt her heart ache as she recalled the amount of care and work she put into making the meal. Nonetheless she forced a heartwarming smile on her face when she realised that Sasuke probably didn't trust her due to the actions of the other villagers.
She walked over to the uchiha and sat down to face him as she placed the bento box down next to him. Sasuke knew that she noticed the spilled food on the floor and he didn't know why she still smiled warmly at him. Was it just an act? Was it because she didn't care if he threw it and let it go to waste? He couldn't quite find an answer. He simply observed.
Hinata felt a slight bit of nervousness run down her spine as the uchiha observed her with an irritated expression. She didn't know why she sat down. Was it to interact with him? Was it learn about what food he liked so she could prepare it the next time? Was it because she wanted to keep him company so he wouldn't feel alone? She didn't know.
"Well....spill it.....what do you want?" Sasuke asked. His voice as cold as ice. She felt a slight bit of fear and begged herself not to stutter when she replied. "Umm.....*gulp*.... I just wanted to ask you what food you liked to eat so that I can make it for you the next time I come to visit." Hinata cursed herself for bringing up such a ridiculous topic but she thanked herself for not stuttering once when she spoke.
"That won't be a problem, because I don't want you to visit me anymore. Just stay away and you wont get hurt. This is the last time you'll be coming for a visit. I hate people like you!" Sasuke said as cold as he could possibly be. Making Hinata feel her heart aching in disappointment and sadness. She looked down as she tried to hide her sad expression. Hinata didn't know why but she was so hurt by sasuke's words that she even felt like crying. She cursed herself once again for her weak display.
Sasuke didn't know why but he regretted what he had said to the hyuga girl. He really did mean everything he had said but his reasons were complicated. Sasuke himself didn't know why he wanted to hate her.
Hinata, even after hearing the rudeness Sasuke spat at her she forced another smile on her face and used all the strength she had to keep in her tears. She stood up and bowed slightly and excused herself to leave. Sasuke felt a slight bit of guilt after he saw the amount of sadness behind her smile before she left. She wasn't good at hiding her emotions at all. She simply tried to hide them, but for Hinata that wasn't her strong point.
Hinata turned the door handle so she could leave but....
"Wait....." Sasuke sighed. Hinata turned around slightly as she stopped at her steps and waited for the uchiha to say what he wanted to say.
"Why are you hear? Really....." Sasuke asked softly but coldly. Hinata flinched at his question and bit her bottom lip. "I'll tell you if you tell me why you hate me." Hinata said slightly sad.
Sasuke sighed. He didn't know what to tell her. He didn't know the answer to that question himself. But he wanted to know why she kept on visiting him so he had to think of something.
"I don't know why I hate you, I just know I hate you." Sasuke stated firmly. Hinata just looked even more sad and her tears would fall any minute. Many people hated Hinata for many different reasons but for some reason, the hatred coming from the uchiha affected her the most. She wanted him to be happy that's why she was there to care for him. She was absolutely certain she was there because of her kindness she felt toward others but after she visited him for the second time she felt slightly different.
Sasuke was a broken person and full of hatred and coldness. He was full of regret and guilt and it tore him down. But he was strong. He had people who cared for him. But Sasuke knew that it wasn't enough. His heart wasn't fully healed. He needed something else. He couldn't quite put his finger on it but there was a hole in his heart and his friends in team seven were not enough to fill that hole. They only helped ease the pain.
Hinata understood Sasuke and felt his pain she was a kind person and as a kind person she would automatically care for anyone in need. Sasuke was in need of care, and she would give it to him in the form of her kindness.
"I'm here because I care for you. You are a friend of naruto's and you helped save me and everyone else in the war. You are precious to me and I refuse to see you suffer." Hinata said as she smiled.
"How can you say something like that after I was so rude to you? Even if you knew I meant every word." Sasuke said as he stood up and stared into her eyes to wait for a reply. "What you said truly hurt me Sasuke, but the care I feel for you won't change no matter what you say to me. I will never know the pain you felt but I will still try to understand what you went through and use that understanding to help you in any way I can. As long as I'm still here you won't be alone....." Hinata said as she smiled a closed eye smile at sasuke.
Sasuke's heart melted at the sight of her smile. He felt even more anger shoot up at him. He finally knew why he hated her but he wasn't going to tell her anytime soon.
Hinata then excused herself and left Sasuke standing there full of rage, emtyness, and.......happiness.
