Part Two: The Truth We Never Knew

Prologue: Five Months Earlier

(Asher)

"He's a worthless vampire Asher you can do better than him. Tell you what you can have Trevor instead." Jacob says as I stand by the door bloody with bite marks all over.

"That's not what we agreed Jacob. You promised me I would have James no matter what as long as I did as you said. I did exactly what you wanted. I betrayed my family, my clan, killed that human girl you wanted dead and brought you Trevor. What more do you want?" I ask frustrated and tired from the fight that took place only moments ago.

"I didn't tell you you had to Asher you made that choice yourself. All I did is offer you to be in my clan and have James come along if that was what you wanted. Besides promises get broken all the time I can't control that. I had no idea James was going to go against his parents and leave. Then again it's not like it makes a difference for me since I already got what I wanted. Scott and Patricia are dead and I didn't even have to lift a finger. Now the Full Blood Army is in disarray and now my clan can rise like I always planned. You can go after James by yourself Asher if you want but you're wasting your time on a Half Blood." he replies sharply.

"What are you talking about? James is a Full Blood vampire." I say with a puzzled look. James can't be a Half Blood vampire. Can he?

"Oh is that what you think? Oh Asher you don't even know half of the story. James's father isn't Scott but a Half Blood Patricia slept with. For years she was secretly seeing Oscar behind Scott's back as he was trying to build their clan and make a secure future for the both of them. Patrica didn't care or even have a heart all she cared about was herself almost like your James. I guess he turned out just like his mother don't you think?" he answers with a grin on his face.

"That can't be true I would of known this whole time. He can't go out during the day like every other Full Blood. He drinks blood everyday and has the same craving for blood. It doesn't make sense you're wrong."

"Oh but it does Asher. James is a Half Blood that grew up believing he was a Full Blood vampire. He never went out during the day because Patricia told him he couldn't. He craved blood because he is still a vampire and all vampires do some more than others. James is unique in his own way yes but is far from being a Full Blood. He isn't as powerful and strong as you or I.

Besides you can't simply know by looking at someone that they are a Full Blood vampire or not. It is the way their blood tastes when you drink it. A Half Blood born's blood tastes different from a Full Bloods and a turned Half Blood. Of course you are too young to know the difference between how it tastes. You have years to learn and I'll gladly teach you. For example why don't you taste Trevor's blood and tell me what you think?"

"Why do you keep bringing up Trevor? What's so special about him? He is nothing but a weak human. I don't even understand why you wanted him." I yell annoyed at hearing his name when this is all his fault. I could of had James if Trevor didn't get in the way.

"Oh but you are wrong Asher. Trevor is anything but a weak human he just doesn't know it and neither do you. Trevor is a Half Blood born from a powerful vampire bloodline. He has vampire blood running through his veins right now. If he was to be bit and turned he would be more powerful than you or I. Of course we will never let him know this because I would prefer him not to find out." Jacob says.

"How do you know this?" I question.

"How do I know what Asher? How do I know about James being a Half Blood and not a Full Blood? How I know Trevor is a Half Blood? Asher do you really think I would make all of this up? I don't know about you but I don't waste time making up these stories in my head. I know about James being a Half Blood because I know his father he's in my clan. I know every dirty secret Patrica kept behind Scott's back. I kept it to myself all these years so I could use it to my advantage one day.

I know Trevor is a Half Blood vampire because Trevor is my half brother's son, my nephew. My brother was a Half Blood born my father had with another human. I believe his name was Jared but I could be wrong but it's not like it matters. My father was the most powerful vampire even more than Scott. Instead of being in charge of all the vampires my father chose to stand beside Scott until he decided it was best to leave. He started his own clan here in Lexington where now I am in charge.

See Trevor isn't just a normal human or even a normal Half Blood born he is far more powerful than your weak James. I knew there was something different from the moment I looked at Trevor when he was born. He is the one that I knew would get us where we are." Jacob explains.

I stand where I am speechless and confused. All this time I thought James was a Full Blood vampire and he was simply a Half Blood born. And the human I thought he fell in love with was really a Half Blood vampire all along. Everything I thought I knew isn't true and Jacob knew all along "So I'm just a pawn in your little game? Just some Full Blood you knew you could use to get what you wanted?" I remark.

"Asher what do you want me to say? I can lie to you and tell you I didn't if that makes you feel better but we both will know that is a lie. I had been watching you and I could see the love you had for James. I knew I could make you turn against the Full Blood Army and choose to be in my clan. I could convince you of anything as long as I dangled the idea of James being yours. Just think of this as a lesson Asher and learn from this experience. You don't need James anyway so why don't you forget about him. I'll give you Trevor instead because lets be truthful wouldn't you rather be with a powerful Full Blood instead? He's all yours if you want him. Turn him, mark him, mate with him or kill him I really don't care. I got what I wanted out of him just please don't tell him the truth because we both know he doesn't need to know it." Jacob says.
