The 30 Questions' Game (Camren)

Chapter 2

After the message she received yesterday, Lauren went to bed and now she was on the sidewalk on her way to school.

She thought about the conversation she had with the stranger yesterday and could not help but make a small mental list of the possible questions she would have to do every day. The curiosity was too much and she did not want to wait to know everything, but she would have to bear patience. Only a month and then she would find out everything.

She pulled her phone out of her new jeans' pocket and looked at the time. 07: 40. She was in time once again. She wondered if the unknown person was already awake, so she decided to send her/him a message.

Lauren:"Goodmorning"

She put her phone back in her pocket and continued walking.

She came a few minutes later and after entering the building she went to her locker, number 1432.

As she laid down her backpack she heard her phone vibrate so she pulled her phone out and read the message that she received.

Unknown: "Goodmorning, Lauren"

How do you know my name? She wondered. Was she or he a stalker by chance? She did not know anything about him! She did not know if she was a male or a female, whether she was old or young, whether she went to work or whether she was in school, whether she lived here or whether she was on the other part of the world. She wanted to ask so many questions, so many that she literally wanted to shout them right in the middle of those crowded corridors.

To interrupt her thoughts was the vibration of her phone.

She received another message from the stranger.

Unknown:"Nice jeans,Lauren ;)"

"he/she in this school??"Lauren asked herself .

She looked around desperately for someone who was looking at her secretly, or at least she was staring at her, but no one was there. Indeed, there were hundreds of students going back and forth in front of her, and most of them had a phone in their hands. It would have been impossible to find the presumed stalker.

She looked back to the screen on which a new message appeared.

Unknown:"if you were asking yourself, yes, i go to this school ;)"

Now he/she is a seer too, did she/he read my mind?

"Are a boy or a girl?" Lauren wrote.

No mattter how stupid that message was, Lauren needed to know who she was talking to.

She locked her phone's screen and opened her locker.She was really worried. What did she got herself into?

She pulled out her english book, closed her locker, and pulled out her phone because due to another text's arrival.

Unknown:"I am a girl, my dear and beautiful Lauren. Your first question is now gone."

A girl. That means she was talking to a girl in the same school as her, probably a few feet away from her, and maybe she was staring at her. Right, I haven't told you yet.Lauren is bisexual and had no problem telling or hearing it from others

All of this had something mysterious but at the same time fun.

Unknown:"It's better if you go to your English lesson, Lauren. The bell already rang. Go or you'll be late. We'll talk later"

English. She knew she had that lesson to follow. She probably had seen her pull the book out of her locker. This means she was closer than what Lauren imagined.

She didn't reply to that message,she was still too shocked. The unknown girl knew everything about her but she knew nothing about the new girl . Only two or three things.

When lunch came, Lauren waited for her best friend Normani outside her class.

It was 13:10

"Lauren!!" she heard someone call  from a distance.

A hand was raised over the students' heads and was now getting Lauren's attention.

"Mani!!"She greeted her as soon as her best friend was in front of her.

"Hey"Normani said breathlessly.

"Where were you?"Lauren asked while entering the school's canteen.

"Oh emh..."she said embarassed.

"Mani,what did you do?" lauren asked looking straight into Normani's eyes.

"Well...I fell asleep and as soon as I woke up I had to suffer my mother's lecture and obviously as a punishment she made me walk to get to school. And hell,do you know how long i took to get to school from my house?" She asked angrily with a sigh at the end.

Lauren shook her head.

"20 minutes of fast walking!!And as soon as I got here I smelled like a horse, so I went to the gym's locker room to take a shower and put on some clean clothes. That's why I skipped the first few lessons." she briefly explained herself to the green eyed girl.

Lauren couldn't help but laugh.

"What are you laughing at?"she asked.

"Oh my God! these things only happen to you !" Lauren said between laughs.

"Yeah,yeah, right" she said.

Lauren's phone vibrated so she quickly pulled it out to check who texted her. The unknown girl.

Unknown:"If you don't want to end up like Dinah and Ally in the medical room, don't eat the meatballs you've taken.I can guarantee you, they have a really bad taste." 

"I don't think i'll eat the meatballs"Lauren said.

She didn't even know why she decided to listen to the unknown girl, but something told her that she only wanted to protect her.

"Why?"

"Emh... i heard that Dinah and Ally had to go to the medical room because of it" Lauren said a half lie.

She didnt want to tell Normani about her unknown friend. She wanted to have her own little secret for once, because she always told her bestfriend everything.

"Oh okay..."Normani said, putting the meatballs down on the counter.

Lauren and Normani looked around for a table and sat down.

"Girls?" a familiar girl interrupted both girls.

"Yes?" they looked at her.

"Did you eat the school's meatballs?she asked.

"Ehm... no" Lauren said.

"That's good, dont eat them, they're disgusting"she said,she made a disgusting face and walked away."

"Guys! A moment of silence please!" the principle said as she walked in the canteen.

When everyone was quite the principle started talking "Anyone who has taken the meatball is prayed not to eat it!Go and throw it away! the cook used an expired ingredient while she was cooking!!"

"What did i tell you?" Lauren playfully nudged Normani.

"Thank God, you warned me, Lauren"Normani said.

"Yeah, luckily"lauren said.

Lauren quickly pulled out her phone to thank the unknown girl.

Lauren:"Thank you :)"

Unknown:"You're welcome :) i'd do anything for you :)"
