Look, look. I'm reading a book, waiting for an update and I get a notification saying that this great book has got a new chapter but doesn't give a chapter title. Well that's great! Let me swipe left for smash and oh... oh... it isn't a chapter it's an update about how the author has a life outside of Wattpad and hasn't updated in a while. Now, I get that some people must message in like 'WHY HAVEN'T YOU UpDaTeD IN FOREVER!!!!' I mean I wouldn't know because very few people could give a flying duck about my books but I can see why it would be convenient to write why where every person can read it. But it gives false hope! It teases readers who just want an update. Frankly, I don't care about exam pressure because same, I don't care about the birth of your son or whatever else you want to throw at me for neglecting yo book. I am also guilty of not constantly updating but I am young and actually not an experienced writer. I'm just a nerd with insomnia and ideas that like to be set free on the internet. So don't tell me apologies in a note at the end of a chapter because most authors are like me and do it for joy and not money so stop demanding content that you receive for free and the creators make for the banter because chances are that person has no obligation to update once a week.
But by all means do tell people if your gonna remodel the book drastically so us easily confused beans, i.e me, can be prepared to come back to a different version of the story that you're happy with.
