There's a time were everyone just gives up. There was a girl and she finally gave up. Her name was Cassie Johnson. she never was selfish, very kind to others, and had two amazing best friends. She tried very hard to fit in with everyone, but she just couldn't. she would walk down the halls and other classmates would walk by and push her or push her things out of her hands. This went on all through high school. she tried so hard not to cry, she tried seeing people so they could help her with her problems. she didn't just have problems at school, she had problems at home as well.
Her father was a drunk, her brother was into drugs, and her mother was just there. her mother would watch her father hit Cassie and her father yelling at her. Cassie's mother just sat there in tears and watched. it wasn't always this way though. things use to be normal. we're her parents would come home and her brother would hang out with her. There was no drugs or alcohol and definitely no fighting. All of this begun after Cassie's little brother Brady died. Brady was only a year younger than her.
Brady was 13 when he died. Cassie was 14 and her older brother Jamie was 16. Brady, Cassie, and Jamie were all out side playing. they were throwing a football around to each other. The ball had been accidentally thrown across the street and rolled into the neighbors garden. Brady ran across the street to retrieve the ball. He was walking on his way back. He stopped in the road to throw the ball to Jamie. As he was walking back to the house some guy drove by super fast and hit Brady. Cassie screamed no!! and tried to run to Brady and pull his body out of the road.
Jamie ran inside to get his parents as Cassie tried to get Brady to gain conscious. Kyle ,Cassie's father, called 911 as himself, Jamie, and Alice, Cassie's mother ran out to Cassie and Brady. Cassie was crying trying to explain to her parents what happened.
Jamie checked to see if Brady had a pulse. Brady was silent, there was no heart beat by the time the ambulance had got there. Before the ambulance had gotten there right before Brady had taken his last breathe, he looked up into Cassie's eyes with this look that she had never seen. A look that showed how scared he was to let go. Jammie and Cassie both had seen this look. Two days later was the funeral. That was the day everything changed. The day her dad Kyle started to drink to take his pain and worries away. The day her mother started to shut down and push the world out, the day her brother jammie started to fall way behind in school because of a blunt he had smoked ours earlier.
