Prologue
Snow. Snow everywhere.
“What is happening?” This winter was dragging on for what seemed like forever.
It wasn’t normal either.
“Well fellow troll, I have one explanation.” “And what is that?”
“The prophecy.”
“What? Are you sure?” “Yes.” “Ok then who is the prophecy? Queen Elsa herself?” “Oh no no no that’s not it, but you’re close. It is someone in the royal family.” “Princess Anna? She doesn’t even have ice powers, how could it be her?” “It’s not her idiot!” “Than who is it!”
“ It’s Princess Ella!”
“Is that King Jack and Queen Elsa’s daughter?” “The girl twin?” “Yes.” “I assume she has her parents’ ice powers?” “Yes, and so does her twin brother Jake and her cousin Elson.” “So what are we going to do?” “Tell the King and Queen. Doy.”
So one of the trolls was sent to town to tell the King and Queen.
Knock, Knock, Knock.
The King answered. “Why hey there. Do you need a place to stay? I can see if my wife will let you first. Why don’t you come on in.” The King had a big smile on his face.
He was a charming young man, who was always casually dressed (unless there is a ball, then Queen Elsa forces him to dress nice, though he would rather not) in a blue hoodie and brown pants. The King also never wore shoes, even in the coldest of weather. The cold never bothered him, because like the Queen, he too had ice powers.
The part where the troll was welcomed in was rather casual. It looked like a kitchen.
“Um King Jack, I have news. You see, I didn’t exactly come for warmth. I came to tell you something that concerns both you and the Queen.” The troll finally said.
He didn’t want to disappoint the King, but this was important. This whole prophecy thing could determine Arendelle’s fate. And anyways, he didn’t want to break the news to the King and Queen. He only volunteered because no one else did.
“I’ll get Queen Elsa then.” The King sounded rather gloom now. It wasn’t like him, but even he knew whatever the news was it wasn’t good.
“So what’s the news?” Queen Elsa looked a little stressed out. It had been a while since something bad happened in Arendelle.
“Well Queen, I hate to break it to you, but the prophecy has come true.” “What? Who is it then?” The Queen sounded like the troll earlier. “Your eldest daughter. The girl twin.”
The Queen looked stunned. The King had a straight face, as if he was hiding his emotions.
“Her power will grow stronger as she gets older. In fact, it will grow too strong for her to control. At least, that is what we fear.” “Are you sure it’s her?” “Yes, I am.” The King made a suggestion.
“We can teach her to control it. Until then, keep her away from everybody, including her cousins (Elson and Andrew) and her brother and sister (Jake and Anastasia).”
“No. We won’t” The Queen objected the King for what seemed like the first time in forever.
She remembered the same thing happened to her, forced to be locked in her room, only seeing her parents, trying to control her powers. She didn’t want her child to have that same childhood. “It wouldn’t be good for her.” stated the Queen.“I don’t want her growing up the same way I did.”
“Uh thank you.. uh troll guy. Sorry I don’t know your name.” The King stuttered. “You don’t need to know. But I shall be on my way.”
The troll headed out. He felt bad for the royal family. They never did anything to deserve this.
As the troll walked off, he heard the gates close. “It’s been a long time since the gates were closed.” he thought. The King must’ve convinced the Queen. Why else would they close the gates?
“Well how did it go?” “The King and Queen didn’t react very well, especially the Queen.” “Well I’m not surprised. In fact I expected them to react that way. Must be heartbreaking to see.” “It really is. Plus, they closed the gates, which added to the depressing aspect.” “Better to be safe than sorry.” “Yeah you’re right.”
Meanwhile, at the castle, the gates weren’t the only precaution taken.
Queen Elsa told Ella what happened and that she would have to kept away from everyone, including her cousins and sister and brother. “But why?” Ella said.
“Eventually your powers could hurt someone. And we don’t want that.” The Queen didn’t sound very convincing.
Then again, she was talking to a child.
“So I have to learn to control my powers? Like you did?” “Yes honey.” Ella looked heart broken, but there was nothing anyone could do. Ella was the prophecy. They had to keep her from the world.
Ella wasn’t the only one hurt by this.
Yes, her cousins had each other and Jake always kept himself busy, but Anastasia was devastated. Her closest and only friend was kept away from her.
Young Ana couldn’t exactly meet anyone new since the gates were closed. Ana also didn’t understand why her best friend and sister was kept away from her.
She just was.
And there was nothing she could do to get Ella to ever come out.
