5: Marriage?

A day after Malfoy, Erin, and I went to Diagon Alley I was sitting in the library reading. Narcissa is watching Erin and I don't know what Malfoy is up to. I hear the library door creak open. I don't look away from my book, knowing that it's Malfoy.

I hear him walk over to me and sit down in the chair across from mine with a heavy sigh. I look up at him and silently close my book. He looks...nervous?

"What's up?" I ask him with an arch of a brow.

"Nothing much. So I was thinking and..." Malfoy trailed off.

"And what Malfoy?" I ask.

"Hermione please call me Draco. We have a child together so it's a bit immature to still be calling each other by our surnames" Malfoy scowls.

"Fine...Draco" I say hesitantly.

It actually feels nice to call him by his first name instead of his last. It feels like an invisible weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

"As I was saying.....I believe it would be best for the two of us and Erin if we were to wed" Draco proposes.

"What?!" I basically yell.

How can he be asking me to marry him? We're not even in an romantic relationship. The only reason we're talking right now is because of Erin, our daughter.

"I think we should get married because it would be best for all of us. I like you Hermione and if I didn't I wouldn't have invited you to live with me. I would've just taken Erin" Draco says bluntly.

I do like Draco, I always have ever since I punched him in the face during Third Year. That's actually when I started to have a crush on him.

"I l-like you too but does that mean we should get married?" I ask with a stutter.

"Yes and it would be best for Erin if we were together" Draco says.

"Alright" I mumble.

Draco stands up and moves to stand in front of me. He bends down onto one knee and pulls a black box out of his pocket. He opens it and inside is the most beautiful ring I've ever seen.

The actual band is silver and there's a green snake wrapping around it. It's very Slytherin but I love it.

"Hermione Jean Granger, will you marry me?" Draco asks.

I nod and allow him to slip the finger into my ring finger. I kiss him and let's just say that it led to something much more than a kiss.
