*Hermione's POV*

I clenched Draco's hand tightly in my own, waiting, forever waiting. I looked up at my Dragon and saw a face that mirrored my own. Larisa and Mark Bell were the parents of the deceased boy whose heart was being donated to Rose. They were coming in to meet us in a minute or two, but that isn't what I was worried about.

Rose was in surgery right now, and I was deathly afraid. Draco was muttering under his breath, paler than usual. Right as I went to comfort him, the door slid open. Larisa and Mark stood, silhouetted in the doorway.

Larisa, a tall, heart-faced woman with black hair cascading down to her butt, rushed towards us and clasped my hand in her own. Mark followed suit, albeit more slowly, and shook Draco's hand formally.

I returned my attention to the woman in front of me. "Larisa. How are you? I am very sorry about your son." Her eyes shone with tears. "Not too well. Although, I must ask, can we visit Rose as she grows? It will feel like memories of my son perhaps." Her voice shook and broke. "Of course! I would be delighted. You must be the godparents!" I gestured towards the chair by my bedside; Larisa looking as though she might faint any moment, and she sank into it.

*Draco's POV*

As Hermione conversed with Larisa, I talked to Mark. We talked about Rose, at first, but soon turned to a less sensitive topic. Quidditch. "DId you know that the Chudley Cannons..."

*Hermione's POV*

It turns out that Larisa and I have a lot in common. We both kind of want to open a designer's boutique, and wanted to travel to France. We loved baking and reading, as well as the same music. As we bonded, we laughed at the boys for switching the topic immediately to Quidditch.

"Boys," I said to her, "The emotional range of a teaspoon." My face fell for a moment, and I hardened my resolve. I didn't need to think of them.

*Random nurse POV*

I grinned at Nurse Hannah. She gestured for a high-five, and I obliged. Another live saved... Hannah voiced my thoughts. "Once we reintroduce her to the family, care to get coffee?" I asked. "Of course, Anna." She replied instantly. Time to reunite a family.

*Larisa POV*

The doors swung open, and two nurses carried in a young girl. This was Rose. She was so beautiful... And I couldn't believe that I got to be godmother. I squeezed Mark's hand, and he squeezed mine.

*Hermione's POV*

When the doors slammed open, I cursed under my breath. Damn prosthetic. I wanted so badly to run to Rose and envelop her in a hug. Draco seemed to sense this, as did the nurses. They hurried over and deposited her in my arms. My sweet baby Rose. I brushed her short hair out of her eyes and kissed her forehead. I heard Draco talking. Eventually, he nudged me, and I handed him Rose. I bid goodbye to Larisa and Mark, and promised to owl them ASAP. As soon as they left, I promptly fell asleep.
