Raymonds PoV
It was nealy night fall and Daniel and Amanda were off swimming in the lake laughing and giggling together. Avery was cuddled up on the benches reading a book. Raymond smiled to himself and admired her. She was so cute. He remembered how he stood up for her earlier in the day and sighed in depression. It was hard for him to express his feelings towards her but after what Jake said to her he automatically knew he was crushing on her and hard.
Raymond couldnt wait any longer and made his way towards Avery on the bench. He sat next to her and cleared his throat. Avery looked up from her book and cocked an eyebrow/.
"Yes?" she said as she closed her book. Raymond swallowed the lump in his throat and could feel his palms getting sweaty. Oh god he was getting so nervouse.
"Can i show you something?" He whispered and avery just nodded and raymond grasped her soft hands and lead her away from he lake. He knew of a place where the stars shined really bright and the trees didnt get in the way.
It was on a cliff edge and there was really tall grass that grew up to your knees. He was sure Avery would love it. He lead her to the spot and when they got close to the spot he closed her eyes and lead her into the tall grassy area. It was almost sunset and when he uncovered her eyes she looked up to see the sky covered in dazzeling stars and colors of blue and purple. The sight was breath taking.
"Oh my- Raymond its beautiful! Awesome even" Raymond could feel himself blushing as she began to walk into the jungle of grass. He followed her and was going to reach for her hand but she turned around to face him and he pretended to swat a fly.
Avery cocked an eyebrow and smiled abit.
"Come on theres this nice spot we can sit in." Raymond lead her to a soft grassy area and held her hand as they sat down under the blanket of stars.
"Its pretty isnt it?" Raymond asked as she looked up into the night sky. Dozens of fire flies surrounded them and one landed on the bridge of Averys nose.
"Yes, i love it" She giggled out as the bug flew away into the sky. Raymond scooched closer to her and could feel her body warmth next to her. She was so pretty, beautiful even and raymond just couldnt simply find away to express his feelings. This night had to be perfect, it was one way to sho her he cared.
"Thank you by the way," Avery whispered as she looked at the fire fllies.
"For what?"
"For standing up for me. It ment alot to me. If you wouldnt of punched that guy i think I might have. But then again im not that much of a violent person so I-" Raymond cut her off by putting his finger on her lips and shushed her.
"Its okay your welcome It was nothing really. No guy should talk to a girl that way anyways." He said as he looked her in the eyes. He looked straight in her eyes and he could see her blush a little bit. This was his chance, Raymond lifted her chin just when she was going to look away and pressed his lips against hers. Avery was a bit shocked but right when she was gonna close her eyes and endure the moment her phone rang. Raymond and Avery both parted and she looked down at her phone to see a text from Amanda,
"Uhm I, we should get going. Amanda and Daniel are looking for us." Raymond nodded as Avery quickly got up and started walking towards the lake.
His one chance ruined. Sigh,
(Okay it was a little short and cheesy but hey roamnce is romance :D)
