Chapter 16

Stephanie's POV

I've been with the other ghost kids for a while now, but I was still confused.

I barely understood what was going on. I found myself thinking about the topic.

For some reason, the new boy, Zach, caught my attention. Maybe it was of how unique he is.

I had some questions that I wanted to be answered. So, I walked over to him.

"Hey, new boy, I want to get to know you better." I said as I stood up in front of him.

He looked up at me and stood up. "My name is Zach, by the way." he responded.

I nodded and looked at him. "I know what your name is, you already told me." I replied.

He chuckled lightly. "And you are Stephanie. I think I will call you Steph." he looked down and then back at me.

I chuckled as well, finding myself looking at him. "That is what my family would call me before they were hanged."

He nodded and gave a smile. "Well, what a nice way to kill your family. Someday, I would want to watch your film."

I nodded and put a strand of hair to the back of my ear. I caught him looking at my hair.

"I like your hair, I guess that red bow fits it perfectly." he said, putting a hand on my hair.

I smiled lightly and chuckled. "You totally seem like a big flirt. Is this how you try and get girls?"

He took his hand out of my hair and chuckled lightly. "No, it was just a compliment."

I just looked at him and rolled my eyes playfully. "Nice one, Zachary." I chuckled, looking at him.

He raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "I never told you my name is Zachary. I only told you I was Zach."

I looked down and chuckled, looking back at him. "I figured 'Zach' was just an abbreviation for 'Zachary'."

He nodded and I noticed he was looking into my eyes. I found myself looking into his.

I don't know how or why, but I liked his eyes, as much as his personality.

It was like looking into a galaxy for some odd reason.

I quickly turned away after I noticed. I heard him chuckle.

"I really like your eyes," I heard him say and I looked at him.

"Thank you, Zachary," I said and chuckled lightly. He smiled and chuckled. "Is that how you are going to call me now, Steph?"

"Yes," I replied and giggled softly. We looked into each other's eyes again.

After what felt like forever to me, I heard an interruption. "Can you both please come back from love land?"

I turned to look at Catherine, who was next to Ted and was looking at us.

Zach chuckled and looked at her too. "We were not in love land." he said.

Catherine smirked. "Don't lie to me. I can see the love in your eyes," she replied.

I saw Ted, who laughed lightly. "Well Zach is an okay person, but totally not my type," I replied and chuckled.

Zach chuckled as well and we looked back at each other.

"Maybe we can secretly take a walk during the night, and this is not a date," Zach said and chuckled.

I nodded softly and smiled. "Yeah, sure." I replied with a bright smile.

This boy was amazing to me already.
