The hunt was on! A group of deer bucks prancing and leaping north in fear. Just outside the city of Dykran, these deer are hunted. Two Savarians silently and gracefully moving amongst the trees and grass, the sun rarely seen due to the mass of leaves. Both armed with bows and one carrying a saber. The other equipped with a dagger at his hip. One Savarian, the slightly shorter one leaps up a tree trunk and climbs.
The other knelt quietly and drew his bow which barely creaked as the limbs bent back. Red and black scaled arms and pale talons gripped the tree as he climbed. The other one held his weapon with dark blue scales, resembling sapphires in the cool and dark forest. Both wore a robe that covered both front and back, the robes a green and grey combination to blend in, beneath the cloth was simple leather armor with slight coverage of chain mail. And only a few plates of Ebony metal scattered around the leather. However, neither wore boots so two pairs of clawed feet were clearly seen in contrast to the wood and grasses. The one on the forest floor prepared for the worst, this is part of his trials of age and he had chosen combat.
Out of nowhere, a crash and roaring sound of snapping and cracks, something was charging through the trees. A large ogre, about twenty feet tall smashes through the wood with a club made from large misshapen tree roots, it crushes it's club onto the oncoming deer and licks the gore off it's club. It's large stupid, hairy face covered in blood, fur and bone as it scanned the forest for further prey. Little did the beast know, the hunter has become the hunted.
For weeks now this ogre had been slaughtering herds of valuable venison meat, it's popular trade for the humans and even more liked through the northern part of Savaria. So a solution, is to have two scale brothers hunt it down and kill the first ogre on sight. And it just so happens, Ergon DracoKyro and Nikra Tylak are on the hunt. Ergon stands taller than a man with scales deep blue as the sea and horns dark as his own saber and dagger. Even his teeth are a darker grey than compared to his Scale Brother, Nikra. In contrast, Nikra had dark red but a bright yellow lining along his snout and some yellow skin beneath the scales. His horns curved forward but were almost pale in comparison to his companion’s curved back and charcoal horns. Nikra is slightly shorter than Ergon but stouter. Their tails were different as well, Ergon's tail had three spikes like his horns in color but smaller. Both had the faces of Dragons, long snouts and plate scales on the tops of their noses and head. Nikra had a mass of slightly yellow feathers that hid the end of his tail. Natural fighters the both of them, hatched on the same week, they trained for years together in these woods. In archery and bladed weapons, Nikra preferring the long bladed spear with twin daggers and Ergon fond of his saber and dagger. The bow he doesn't mind too much if he needs it, such as this ogre before him.
Ergon still has his arrow directly facing the ogre’s fat neck. In a train of thought he lowers his weapon. Nikra looking confused at his friend. Ergon looks up and smirks, tapping the pommel of his blade. A fine black blade, resembling the typical Savarian sabers but longer and thinner, a dueling saber but still strong enough to handle stresses of battle.
Nikra shakes his head and slightly hisses, his tail swaying with shallow, stiff movements of anger. He points to Ergon’s bow and arrows. Strongly advising using that in place of a saber. Ogres are more than capable of killing a Savarian in close quarters combat. Once the Dragon Knight, Zyyl tried to kill an ogre with his broadsword, in the end the Savarian's body was found two miles away in a lake from the ogre.
Ergon hisses and redraws his bow. Lining down sight, breathing in the pure, clean air. And letting loose the arrow. It flies 50 yards and hits it's mark in the beast’s throat. It stumbles and gasps in shock, some bleeding but not like what either of the two expected. They look at each other wide eyed. Only two resorts left; run, or fight close to it with blades. Nikra flings out a throwing knife, piercing the side of it's neck. Finally drew some blood but it only seemed to irritate the ogre further.
