Chapter 3

His heart was pounding against his chest. His mind raced as he slipped pass the guards view and sped towards Craig's room.

He met a human.

Not only that but he talked to him and saved him.

Jonathan dodged the guards and slipped into Craig's window, breathing heavily.

"where were you!" Craig swum over to him. "I said ten minutes! You've been gone for an hour."

"I met a human!" Jonathan whisper shouted.

Craig froze.

"I also talked to him."

"you can't be serious!" Craig snapped.

"I am."

A silence peaced through them. Jonathan was buzzing, wondering what he should tell him first while Craig was thinking of the worse possible situation for Jon.

"this is going to end in disaster," Craig put his head in his hands, collapsing onto his chair.

"no it won't, unless we tell, no one will know." Jonathan reassured him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Jonathan picked up his discarded armour and put it on. Nodding to himself once that was done, he turned back to Craig.

"alright, your highness. It's time for your lunch." Jonathan began to lead Craig out of the room and down the hall.

"come on man! That's not cool!" Brian snapped as Tyler stole some of his chips.

"deal with it," Tyler replied smugly.

Lui looked up from his hamburger to see Evan picking at his chicken. "something wrong Evan?"

Evan looked up from his food to stare at Lui confused. "sorry, what did you say?"

Lui shook his head, placing his hamburger on his plate. "you've been staring at your food for a while now, I was just wondering if something was wrong?"

"oh, no I'm fine, just thinking is all," he picked up a peace of chicken and bit into it.

Brian and Tyler had stopped arguing and turned towards Evan.

"what? Did something happen with Sydney?" Tyler wondered.

"no, this has nothing to do with Sydney," Evan replied.

"oh, so is it someone else?" Brian smirked.

"does Evan have a crush on someone?" Tyler cooed.

"shut up," Evan blushed and put more focus into eating.

"Come on man, who's the lucky girl?" Tyler pressed.

"it's not Sydney is it?" Brian asked, slightly horrified at the idea.

"no, and I don't know their name OK." Evan snapped. "now just give it a rest."

"so she's unknown huh?" Lui added.

"Geez, must have been a looker to get your attention quick," Tyler ran a hand through his hair.

"look. Let's just forget about it." Evan waved off, finishing his food.

They entered the lunch hall and Jonathan seated Craig at one end of the table and food was brought in for him.

On the other side of the room, the double doors swung open. In swum the next king in line, Brock along with David, his personal guard. David sat Brock down and he began to eat.

"how has your day been?" Craig asked in a formal tone.

"busy, I've had to sign documents and study, I've also attended a meeting with the council and will attend another in the afternoon." Brock replied.

"I see, do take care and rest then," Craig went back to eating and a silence over came them.

David slowly crept over to Jonathan as the other guards began to leave following the royals out.

"so, how was watching Craig study?" his voice was thick with an Irish accent.

"actually, it wasn't too bad." Jonathan whispered back.

"huh? But don't you always say it's boring?" David asked confused.

"well," Jonathan scratched the side of his head and avoided eye contact. "I sort of, met a human."

"WHA-" Jonathan covered David's mouth before he could blurt it out.

"don't tell everyone, it's supposed to be a secret," he said in a hushed voice while receiving strange looks from Craig and Brock.

But they went back to eating shortly after.

"are you for real right now?" David whisper yelled.

"yes," Jonathan nodded. "but don't go around telling everyone."

"why would you even want to do that?"

He paused, wondering what to say.

"aren't you tired of it? Just sitting g here under water? I wanted excitement, I wanted to meet a human, and I did. He was also kinder cute, too."

David shook his head as lunch ended, Jonathan accompanied Craig back to his study while David followed Brock towards his room.

Jonathan stared out the window, watching the sunlight filter through the surface of the water while Craig was writing done something when the doors burst open.

"YOU DID WHAT?" Brock exclaimed, frightening both Jonathan and Craig.

Craig gathered himself quickly, glaring daggers at Jonathan. "what did you do?"

"apparently he went to visit the humans," Brock folded his arms over his chest. Craig face palmed and sighed.

Jonathan shot a deadly look towards David who shrugged.

"do you not realize how much trouble you'll be in?" Brock growled.

"I couldn't help it." Jonathan whined. "I wanted to see the outside world. I didn't mean to meet a human!"

"I just have one question for you." Brock paused, glaring down at him. "was as cute as you say he is?"

Jonathan blinked at the question wondering if he heard right. Brock seemed serious as he repeated the question.

"oh yes. And he had friends as well, but I didn't get a good look at them." Jonathan smiled.

Craig face palmed again, wondering what he was watching.

Brock placed a hand to his chin thinking. "alright, I'll let it slip this time ok? But just remember that this doesn't leave this room, understood?"

They nodded.

"alright, continue on." Brock left along with David.

Craig slowly turned towards Jonathan. "your in so much trouble you don't even know it."

Jonathan could only laugh nervously.
