"Oh. My. Gosh. Is this really what were gonna do?" I asked Evan in astonishment.
We were currently at a lake where tons of people were doing all sorts of fun, crazy things in the water. There were people paddle boarding, kayaking, and even water skiing, which I've been dying to do ever since I moved here."Well most of it." Evan grabbed my hand and dragged me along to where two jetskis were awaiting us in the water.
A smile broke across my face and I started jumping in excitement. "Are we seriously gonna ride these?!" "I've always wanted to ride a jet ski, it was a dream of mine.
Back when I lived in Seattle, I never came close to going to the lake, because it was hours away."More like race them." Evan said with a smirk on his face as he handed me a life vest. "You ready?"
I swung my leg over the jet ski and hopped on as Evan was going over the basics on how to ride it, "Now don't fall off."
"I'll try not to." I was a little bit nervous because I never did ride a jet ski before.
"You'll do fine," Evan gave me a reassuring smile, which helped me calm down. "Now we're gonna race around the lake, and whoever gets to that pier first, wins."
"And what happens if you lose?" I asked him curiously with a grin.
Evan smirked and his eyes seemed to beam with excitement.
"Loser gets to do whatever the winner wants.""You're on!"
In a matter of seconds, we were off. I started off a bit rough, because I was new at this. But after a while, I caught up to Evan. We both had huge smiles on our faces and it made me smile inside; I was having the time of my life and I couldn't ask for anything better.
I took a last turn around the lake, making me just a few yards away from the pier. I took a glance back at Evan to see he was on my tail. Just knowing this, made me want to laugh; I never thought that I, a person who's never rode a jet ski on her life, was actually winning a race at it!
"I'm totally kicking your butt!" I yelled back at Evan who was slightly catching up to me. I pressed on the motor so I sped up about 4 inches further than Evan; I totally got this in the bag.
When I saw the pier rapidly approaching, I pressed on the brakes to slow down. In that moment, I knew that I totally kicked his butt in this jet ski race! I cheered loudly as I got closer to the pier where Evan was pulling up.
"I won! I actually won!" I exclaimed as I stopped the jet ski which was inches away from the pier.
Evan laughed as he pulled hi jet ski next to mine, "that's because I let you win."
I chuckled and shook my head, not exactly believing him. "I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that 'cause I wanna feel cool right now."
I pulled myself up on the pier and overlooked the beautiful view. It was rather relaxing to look at after an intense race."Yeah you totally kicked my butt back there." Evan said with a playful tone in his voice. His hair appeared to be drenched in water and his eyes seemed to glisten in the sun. In this moment, he looked quite perfect to me.
"I guess you have to do what I say now huh?" I said playfully nudging his arm.
Evan smirked and pushed his hair up, "What do you have in mind?"My eyes roamed around the lake finding something crazy for him to do. I wanted to make him do something that would make your heart race a million beats, something-found it!
"Jump from that cliff." I told him as I pointed to the high cliff across the lake.
Evans eyes widened and he shook his head rapidly, "No nuh uh, not gonna happen."
