Amanda's pov
Training was ruthless. Day in and day out. I plopped on my bed. Chase's training is difficult, but I can see it is helping Athena grow stronger. Josephine's intelligence spiked, she's able to predict people's moves five minutes before they even think about it. Harper grew out of the abnegation of a child, and became one of the warriors in the family. Benjamin grew the most, for being the scared Omega to not so scared one. Along with mercenary to a father to my child.
"Renee needs to be fed Amanda." I groaned then turned around to see my beautiful little girl in Benjamin's arms.
"Hi baby," I kissed her cheeks making a monsters noise. She giggled uncontrollably. I started to feed her, and glanced up at Benjamin. His hair is longer then it was when I met him. And his muscles bulge out a little more. "What's wrong?"
He lets out a shaky breathe before speaking. "My brothers found me. I'm leaving to keep you guys safe."
"Ben..."
"No Amanda! If anything was to you or Renee I could never forgive myself." He drops down to his knees. "I love you Amanda," he kissed Renee and my foreheads then left.
The last time I seen him for years. Normally a girl who's had a husband that was killed, then a man who she love just leave her. She would normally just break down and shut everyone out. But I'm not the average girl, and never will be. Life continued on even after Benjamin. I had to take care of my family. Some people may say my heart went cold.
Twenty-five years later
I kept to myself. The girls all grown and moved on. Athena CEO of her own company, hiring women since men didn't approve of her owning a business. Josephine being the first female Detective in her division. And Harper's kind heartedness let her to becoming a field nurse. My little girl, Renee, married and had four kids. Who I spoiled every time they visit.
"Mom when are you going to go after Benjamin?"
"Why should I Renee I'm happy the way I am right now." My grandchildren are running through the yard with their father. Renee and I are sitting on the porch swinging on the porch swing I set up a few years back.
"Because Mom I remembered the way you looked at him."
"Renee you were only one when he left. How would you know the way I looked at him."
"Yeah i know, but i can remember fragment. Plus, Aunt Josephine told me because when I asked you never told me. I know he's not my dad but he also made you happy mom." I will kill Josephine in a later time, but they are right. I was happy then that life was taken away. "Mom?"
I faced Renee, "yes baby."
"Can Desmond and I leave the children here? He was just let go from the mill, and we can't afford to feed the children." Tears rolled down her face and into her lap.
I caught one about to fall. "Yes baby. If it means my grandkids are safe I will do anything. Until you and Desmond get on your feet." She shook her head and hugged me.
We went inside the house, Renee and Desmond were speaking to the children. "Why can't I go outside?" I shiwelled around to see Mrs. Luis's younger self in the kitchen with me.
"Because...," I couldn't come up with a response. "You can go outside." Before I finished she darted out the door. I cannot keep her in here like she did me.
"Hey mom," Renee paused in the doorway, "Desmond and I are heading out."
Her voice was cracking, "it will be okay baby. They are safe there."
"Okay, I love you Mom."
