Different from the day I went fishing with Elios, today the sky was dark and droplet of rain were falling down from the sky. The air was cold and it gave me chill. As time passed by, the rain poured harder, followed with the sound of roaring thunder. This kind of weather might gave people a cold, so did Alessa. Because she got a cold, she took a day of from her work at the town and stay at home to rest. Knowing this, I decided to help her by taking care of her, together with Elios. While Elios bought his mother's medicine at the town, I tried to cook. I had seen Alessa cooked a lot of time. You could say that it's self taught by looking at other. I cooked a porridge, a classic menu for those who got cold. I just hope that it would taste great.
"You cook this? It taste good!" Alessa said as she ate another spoonful of porridge.
"I'm happy that you like it, Ms. Alessa," I replied her with a smile on my face. It's true that I'm happy. I'm happy that I could be a useful person for others, especially Alessa who had helped me once. While Alessa was eating, Elios came in with medicine on his hand.
"Here mom, your medicine. Eat this and you'll recover from your cold," Elios passed the medicine to her mother. "Speaking of which mom, why don't you spare me some of your porridge. I also want to taste Lia's cooking you know =3="
"No way I'll share Lia's yummy cooking to you. Isn't my cooking enough for you," teased Alessa.
"Momm so mean," Elios said while making fake sad face.
"Actually... I cook them a lot, so I still have it at the kitchen. You can have it if you want," I smiled, looking at Alessa and Elios. What such a cute mother and son relation.
"Yay! She's kinder that you mom :p"
"Hahahha, whatever you say, my son. Hey, Elios. Where is the water? Why did you only bring the medicine, you think I'm going to chew it? Hahaha, how silly of you Elios. Take it for me, will you?"
"Okay mom, okay. I'll take it now..."
"No, let me take it, Ms. Alessa. Elios must be tired after searching for the medicine around the town," I volunteered
"Aw, thanks Lia!" I smiled in reply.
"Okay, Lia. Thank you," Alessa said then she smiled to me. "And one more thing, just call me mom, okay?"
"But... I'm not even your child. I'm no one."
"You doesn't have to be my birth child to call me mom. Since the day Elios found you, I take care of you as if you're my child. I've always thought of you as my child, Lia. It's fine. After all, it will be awkward if you always call me with 'ms'," reassured Alessa.
"Yes, mom is right. And don't hesitate to call me your brother!" Elios then said to me.
"Okay.... mom," as I called her mom, I began to wondered myself. What kind of birth mother I had. Is she feeling sad because of my loss? I wished to know it, but I just couldn't.
"Yes! That's great Lia," again, she smiled happily. I wonder how could someone be happy just by calling them mom. But, looking at those happy faces made me glad.

I took a glass of water and gave it to Alessa. When she took it, I noticed a ring at her finger. It's made of silver and in the middle of it, there was a small beautiful looking gem stone. Could it be the ring that was left by her husband, just like what Elios told me once? She seemed to noticed my interest at her ring.
"Beautiful, isn't it? It's the last thing my husband give before his death," Alessa spoke as she smiled in nostalgia, yet her eyes reflected sadness within her heart.
"I'm sorry for his death," I came to feel the sadness that Alessa felt.
"It's okay, dear Lia. We should be strong in facing problems in live. It's not like problem will stop coming when we ask them to. If we don't prepare for it, we might be suffering a lot more."
"Yes, mom."
