I sat on the same green sofa that I sat on yesterday with Elios. Komui wasn't anywhere in this room. Allen said that he probably goes to the canteen to brew his morning coffee. After escorting us to Komui's office, Allen bid us farewell since he has urgent stuff to do. I and Elios wait patiently on the sofa for Komui's appearance. As we're waiting, I used this chance to take a proper look of the office since yesterday was too hectic to notice small details of my surroundings.
Still sitting on the sofa, I averted my gaze toward the room. Komui's office gave a spacious impression to me. Not because the room is large, since I calculated that the size of this room is no different than my room, but because the way Komui managed his furniture and objects. Just by observing the office, I could tell that Komui is a neat man. The books on the bookshelf, his working table, the way he organized his documents, and those photo he manage to hung on the wall implied that he loved to organize his stuff.
While observing Komui's office, my gaze land on a photo displayed at his working table. That photo was the same photo that Komui showed me when he first told me about Saya, which he believed was me. Just by looking at that picture, various emotions surfaced inside my heart. I couldn't explain why I was so drawn to that photo. Maybe, it wasn't the photo I was drawn to, instead it was the people inside the photo, Kanda, Allen, Lena Lee, Lavi, Rey, and Natasya. At first, I wonder whether or not I was Saya Aiteru, like what everyone believed. However, these feelings and the surfacing memories inside my dream gave me a tint of reason that I was Saya. If I was really her, I hoped that my memories would returned soon, so I could remembered how does it felt being Saya and being with them.
"What are you thinking, Lia?" Elios asked with his typical smile as he noticed that I was drowned in thought. I hesitated at first, but I ended up by telling him my thought. About my memories, emotion, and nostalgia when I arrived here.
"Thank you for telling me this," Elios gave me a warm smile and slowly caressed my head. "But, you need to take it slow, okay? It's not a good thing if you push yourself too hard."
I nodded to Elios. It felt nice after sharing my thought to Elios, like a little bit of my burden is liften up from my mind. I gave Elios my smile, to tell him that I was very lucky to have him by my side. Indeed, I was thankful that Elios and his mother found me at the seashore a year ago and welcomed me as the part of their family.
In the middle of our conversation, the door flung opened. Komui with a cup of newly brewed coffee at his right hand stomped inside the office to his working table. His sour looking face showed a clear sign of annoyance. Something must happened, I thought. I looked at Elios questioningly. He just shrugged his shoulder.
"Ugh," Komui groaned. Fortunately, after taking a sip of his coffee, his expression turned softer.
"Lia and Elios sorry for making the two of you wait," said Komui while straightening up his seat.
"That's fine, sir. Um, is there anything wrong? You don't look good when you first came inside the room," I asked worriedly.
"Don't worry about it. It's just those brats make another commotion in the canteen. Now the canteen need another renovation for it's damage furniture," Komui sighed in disbelief and slightly shake his head. I was just about to asked Komui, but it seemed that Elios thought of the same thing as mine.
"Brats?" asked Elios.
"Oh, I mean Allen and Kanda. I'm starting to worry about the mission I attend them to do," said Komui to himself.
"Allen and Kanda is in a mission? We just met them this morning," I spoke, remembering how Kanda suddenly barged in Elios' room and how Allen came in the right moment before Kanda snap.
"Well, I attend them an urgent mission after calling for you here. They just went out for the mission some minutes ago," explained Komui. Again, he took another sip of his coffee with a pleased look on his face. I guess he really love coffee that much.
"Is that so. We should have bid them goodbye before they went on the mission," I said.
"Hah, why should you. That pony tailed guy surely is rude. Don't you remember he pointed out his damn katana to me this morning," mumbled Elios to himself while pouting in irritation.
"By the way, let's get to our topic, Lia, Elios," said Komui in a sudden serious tone. We straighten out seat and attentively listen to what Komui is going to say next.
"As you know, your mother was attacked by a Noah. That Noah you described to me is Tyki Mikk, you should be careful if one day you cross path with him again. The reason why that Noah attack your mother is because he's after the innocence. Back then, when Teodore is still alive, he sent me a telegram. In that telegram, he told me that he discovered several innocence shards through out his mission. However, he's in a huge trouble since Noah is after him and the innocence. He doesn't explain the whereabouts of those innocence shards in the telegram. He only said that he will entrusted everything to his wife, Alessa in Manarola. So, I'm asking to you both, do you know anything regarding this matter or have you heard anything from your mother?" after explaining everything to us, he asked."Mother never speak of anything about innocence and these kind of thing before," said Elios as he tried to collect his memories. "But, why did father sent such an important matter to mother, instead to the headquarter?"
"The last mission he had was in a city near your hometown. He thought that if he send it to the headquarter instead, things might goes wrong in the way to the headquarter. That's why he send it to your mother instead to the headquarter," explained Komui.
"Do you really don't have any clue about this?" Komui once again asked. This time, he seemed anxious.
I tried to think, recollecting my memories on what Alessa spoke, whether or not it had connection with the innocence that Komui was talking about. Suddenly, the ring that Alessa gave me before leaving the house came to my mind. I suspected that this ring had something to do with the innocence. I told Komui about the ring and gave it to him. Carefully, he inspected every inch it.
"This is just a normal ring," Komui sighed in deep disappointment. "Although, there's something written inside the ring. Do you have any idea what is it?"
Still looking depressed, Komui gave us back the ring. I took it from him and noticed the writing he mentioned.
Let's go back to the distant memories, it says.
I tilted my head in confusion. I didn't understand how is this supposed to have connection with the innocence whereabouts. However, Elios showed different reaction from me. He took the ring from my hand and examined it seriously, just like a mad scientist. Then, he gasped in exultation and said,
"I know what it means!"
