Steve's P.O.V
I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to see Y/N and apologize for freaking out on them. But to think of it, I had no clue where they lived, and my car was already driven off by Darry, so the only way to get there would be to walk.

The sun blasted at me, burning my eyes as I lifted my hand up and placed it right on my forehead to shade them. The heat was blazing, and my shoulders were already did getting burned, I could just tell.

There I was, out in open, searching for an unknown house, trying to find my prey. I pay too much attention to the T.V. I started to walk very slowly, creeping past other houses, trying not to awake some of their dogs. I could feel dizziness swing in, and my head ached. But I couldn't stop now, I had somewhere to go and there was no way I would just give up!

And so I walked, forwards, backwards, sideways, psh, I even tried climbing stuff! The only thing I had received from Y/N was their number... Wait, that's it! I scrambled around, excited at the least, and dove my hand into my pocket, pulling out the very crappy phone that I called mine, but it didn't matter how crappy it was, I just had to text Y/N.

I felt my fingers stiffen as I stood there, not knowing what to type. Then I began, Text Message: Hello Y/N, I'm sorry for breaking out on you's, I just didn't want you to leave. I's been looking for you for a while now, and still I have no clue where you could be. Please forgive me for "rough playing" with ya. Your friend, Steve. Text Sent. And then it was done. All I had to do now was wait for my blasted phone to buzz with excitement, and anticipation would surely shiver down my spine.

Your P.O.V
I swung my arm around the lamp post as I headed to the mailbox. From there, the mailbox looked like mail itself, but I wouldn't confuse myself any longer. I let go of the pole and flew forwards, reaching the mail box. Inside were a few letters, none for me 0f course. I searched through the pile of letters that I had stacked upon my hand, and most of them were bills that my parents had to take care of.

I set out mail down inside the house, then traveled to my neighbors, ringing their doorbell with the crinkled letter in my hand. I could hear the chime playing inside their house as I raised my head up, closing my ear to the door and listening. I captured the barking of their dog, but no shuffling. Nothing. I set the mail down by their door, not waiting anymore time there.

Off I went, back to my house. My parents were at work, and I would've been at school, but I got kicked out for many things, but those things were accidents. I did work somewhere, but I have a few days off, well, at least I think I do. I rushed back to my room, picking up an apple from the kitchen on my way there, and I slammed the door shut. I could be as loud as I wanted, but I didn't want to get any noise complaints from the neighbors.

Laying down on my bed, I picked up my phone, holding it above my face. As I turned it on, the home screen was blurred out by text messages. I didn't have time to read them from the screen before it would shut off, so I swiped across one of the text messages, entering my password and opening it up. As I read, I made it to the bottom, reading who it was from. My mind just about exploded and my whole body froze. Steve.

Ponyboy's P.O.V
My forehead was sweating and my stomach ached. I couldn't handle the pain, and it even hurt to breathe. We had thought that the Socs were finally done with their stupid pranks and stuff. But after seeing what had happened to me, especially feeling it, we assumed that they just waited for the right moment, for two of us to be alone, and damn, I hated it.
