"So apparently, in a power quad, each person has two powers." I said.

"If you get extreme head aches and pain at random moments, this is a sign that your psychic and witchcraft abilities are coming in." Jordyn said while reading from the book.

"That's definitely me." I said, raising my hand.

"Okay, now who gets distinct feelings when meeting someone new and can't sleep?"

"Me." Ethan said.

"Alright well congrats, you have empathy powers and necromancy." Jordyn announced.

"Woah, dude. You can speak to the dead." Grayson gasped.

"Now for anyone experiencing lots of energy and the need to always do something, which is me, you have teleportation and levitation." Jordyn said. "Omg so cool!"

"Now Grayson is the only one left." I said, smiling at him.

"The only two powers left is sorcery and time travel. You got the coolest ones, gray. And it's sort of similar to leia's with the whole magic thing." Jordyn grinned.

"Guys, the book says we're immortal." Ethan gasped.

"Oh my god, really?" I asked.

"Yes," he nodded, "it says since we're in this supernatural group we can't really die, and our abilities are the strongest in the world ONLY if we're not too far from each other."

"Like how far?"

"If all of us are spread out all over the world, it's not good for our abilities, but the closer we are the stronger we are. I guess as long as we're all in the same country we're ok." He said.

"Wow, this is a lot to process." I sighed, sitting on the couch.

"Not to be a bummer, but our parents are still out there. We can't move on to the next task until we learn how to use our abilities. So we need to get to it, guys." Grayson said.

He was right. Our parents were still in danger
so the quicker we did these tasks, the quicker we could find a way to get them back.

"We all have to sit in a circle, join hands, and do the chant to activate our powers." Jordyn said.

We all sat on the floor in a circle and did as the book instructed. We all took a deep breath and then began chanting.

"We're ready to take on our destiny, please unleash the magic... we're ready to take on our destiny, please unleash the magic!"

Every time we said the two lines, the book became brighter and brighter. Then suddenly it was like a spark exploded in the air. It was so bright I had to close my eyes and I felt like a different person. I felt good. Really good.

"Woah." I said, opening my eyes to see that everyone was wearing different clothes and looked slightly different too.

We were all in these cool black outfits, my brown hair was now longer and faded into purple tips. Jordyn's blonde locks faded into blue tips. Ethan's hair was freshly cut so he looked more identical to Grayson and they seemed more buff than before. I felt like I could do anything right now.

"Guys, I'm sorry. I know we're in a serious situation right now, but this is so cool!" I exclaimed.

Everyone cheered in agreement. I can't believe we actually had powers! This is so strange.

"There's one last rule guys," Ethan announced, "we cannot expose supernatural things to the world. We can only tell people if we're trying to help them."

We all nodded and agreed not to tell the world about our powers.

We all became super alert when a clap of thunder sounded and we heard a crash come from upstairs.

"You guys, this is weird. I'm not even scared. I just wanna defeat Morgan now." I confessed.

"Same." Grayson agreed.

I don't know how I knew what to do, but I did. I used my witchcraft to work up a spell. The words just rolled off my tongue like it was nothing.

"There seems to be an intruder in our house, and they're attempting to be as quiet as a mouse. Come out, come out, and don't be shy. We want to hear your alibi." I reached out my hand and a purplish colored smoke shot out of it and went all the way upstairs, dragging Morgan to us.

"Wow, that was dope." Jordyn made a side comment causing me to smirk.

"I see you guys have figured out how to use your powers." Morgan said, crossing her arms.

"Damn right we have and we also aren't afraid of you anymore. So tell us, where are our parents?" Jordyn demanded.

"Hold on," Morgan giggled, "You still have one more task to complete."

"What now?" I rolled my eyes.

"One of you have the power to teleport if I'm not mistaken, so why don't you go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and fetch me my magic locket I left there and I'll tell you where your parents are." Morgan sighed.

"I'm on it." Jordyn nodded.

She suddenly snapped her fingers and blue smoke was left behind when her body disappeared.

A few seconds later she popped back in with the black locket in her hand. It had a red glowing heart on it and I had no idea what it was for. It was very intriguing, though.

"They're in the shed a mile east from this house. Goodbye, for now." Morgan then snapped her fingers and disappeared.

We all gasped and raced out of the house and down the dirt path that went east. After a while of jogging we reached the shed. Grayson busted open the door and we found our parents.

"Mom, dad! I'm so glad to see you!" I exclaimed.

But Ethan put his arm in front of us, causing my heart to sink.

"What's wrong?" Jordyn asked.

"You guys..."

Ethan tapped my mom's shoulder and her head fell off!

"Oh my god! MOM!" I screamed and went into hysterics. "They're all dead! THEY'RE DEAD!"

I felt tears rushing down my face and we all turned around and got out of the shed. Suddenly another clap of thunder came and an evil laugh that sounded like Morgan echoed throughout the whole entire woods.

"She did this on purpose." Grayson looked out into the distance.

"Now what?" Jordyn asked, tears falling down her face.

"I don't know, but we are going to fight." Grayson said firmly.
