-Reminder-
They are all 18/19 !!"It's called dancing, it's quite fun. You should try it sometime!" I teased, making Max smack my arm hard. I laughed, along with El and Lauren.
"Listen, I've danced with Dustin before, I just wasn't good at it! Were you guys just not paying attention at prom? I nearly broke his toes." She basically scoffed out, as if it was common sense. I laughed a bit, remembering the incident.
"Yeah, and then you fell into a group of boys, causing Dustin to blabber out threats while hopping around. It was quite the sight, might I say." Lauren recounted the memory, making me laugh even harder. I forced words out through my laughs, gasping for air.
"And then we got kicked out for causing a ruckus." I added on, making everyone laugh hysterically. "I also love how we talk about it like it happened forever ago. It was literally last week." I tried to calm down, wiping under my eyes to clear my cheeks of tears. We always have at least one good laugh when us girls are together. There's always tears of laughter at least once, and I love it. I love these girls, I love the boys. They've kept me happy all these years.
"Well, now that that's out of the way, back to the point. Max, you've gotta dance with him." I once again scolded, and she huffed stubbornly.
"Guys, I can't dance. In general. Give it up!" She laughed, startling El slightly.
"Guys, I am driving! Trying to focus." She scolded, and I rolled my eyes.
"El, we're like two minutes away. You'll be fine." I assured, causing her to roll her eyes. "Anyway, Max, you have to. This is the perfect time to dance and soften him up, then tell him. There's no better way to do it."
"Uh, what about just telling him at dinner or something? Not possibly getting him mad at a wedding!" She exclaimed loudly, and El nodded a bit.
"She's kinda right. Maybe we shouldn't disturb the wedding at all. Let them have their night, then she can tell Dustin. Like...take him home and tell him or something." El agreed with Max, also giving an idea.
"Then how would she soften him up enough?" Lauren chimed in with curiosity, and I held in a laugh.
"I mean, I'm sure she could manage." I said quietly with amusement laced into my voice, earning a very hard slap from Max. I laughed anyway, my arm stinging like crazy. She started ranting, lecturing me about how that's not important. And about how she wouldn't dare, which I didn't believe, but I didn't argue. "I was joking! Chill!"
"Both of you shut up, ok? We're here." Lauren scolded in her soft voice, still managing to sound threatening. Her voice confuses me, how it sounds so soft but sometimes has some gravel to it. It's just something I've always thought about. "Pile out." She smiled back at us, causing us to slide out of the back seat. I stood up, about to walk forward, but stopped short when Max didn't move. She was standing outside the car door, blocking my path. She was looking at something, which peaked my curiosity, so I tried to shuffle around her. I finally was able to peak around the side of her enough to see what she did, and my eyebrows furrowed.
"A black cat? You know, they say those are bad luck." I teased, but she didn't look terribly amused.
"No, they're not. They're just...misunderstood." She explained softly, smiling at the cat, then proceeding to walk forward. I made confused eye contact with Lauren and El, not really sure what just happened. We all shrugged simultaneously, hurrying to catch up with Max.
We entered the mall, all getting a bit giddy. There's something about going to the mall that just brings out the girly side in you. I'm normally a simple girl. Black pants, black shoes, black shirt. But when I'm in the mall, I for some reason like the pink things. It's so confusing, I just don't understand.
