Who doesn't get excited over his or her birthday?

Well, I do, but this time I have someone to expect for that day.

I wanted her to be with me when that day comes, but she was gone for a family trip and will come back after my birthday.

She promised to celebrate with me as soon as she arrives and I agreed, because I'm left with no choice.

I'm wouldn't make her choose.

Secretly, I wanted to whine like a woman on her period days. This just happens once a year and God doesn't let us to celebrate together.

The party was over and dinner passed. There's an hour left before my birthday finished. I decided to lock down in my room and forced myself to sleep, so when I woke up I could be with her.

My energetic mom knocked on my door as if she wanted to remain celebrating the left hours of my birthday or because she knew I was disappointed that she's not here.

The knocks became feverishly. With a frown, I opened the door.

I'm glad I did or else I would miss that beautiful smile. She's standing in front of me.

She's holding a fresh strawberry cake with one candle that lighted the dark night.

'Happy Birthday. Make a wish.'

I didn't need to wish. She's with me like what I hoped for.

'I thought you won't be home.' I mumbled softly. I couldn't believe that she was here.

'I flew back earlier. Your mom said you missed me so much that you didn't enjoy your day.'

She pouted. I removed the cake between us and placed it on the nearest table.

I hugged her immediately and I felt her smile.

I will be looking forward in every birthday from now. Thanks to her.
