Chapter 6

"Thank you,"

I say to the makeup artist as she finishes doing my eye make up for our Hyde stage and leaves. I look to the left of the mirror to see Ravi and Ken laughing together as the AV crew straightens out their mics. Leo isn't in the room, he's doing a solo interview right outside. What's surprising is that my heart doesn't hurt as bad today. It's been a week scene the bench scene at the park and every day was a cycle of fake it, cry, sleep, and repeat. Leo and Ravi show no awkwardness and we all just pretend it didn't happen. Leo announced his engagement and we all went to his celebratory party. Ravi and I left early and played badminton until 3 a.m. that day.

I smile at the memory and my eyes move to look at Ravi again in the mirror to see him looking at me too. He winks and continues talking to Ken. I keep my eyes on him. His bleached white hair covers his forehead in a triangular shape and his eyes lined with heavy black eye-liner make him look unreal. Almost like a dream.

He is a dream isn't he. Charming, sweet and funny. A dream that some how is close enough to touch if I just let myself and dear god, I want to. I really do but I can't. Not now, not while everything's still so complicated, not when I'm thinking of life and people as dreams. I look away and sigh heavily.

Funny how I managed to create all this confusion.

"N?" I turn to see Leo pulling his mic off.

"Yeah?"

"Do you want to have dinner together this weekend?"

"With Mia?"

"Just us." My mouth falls open at his comment.

"Like you and I. ONLY?" I whisper-yell the last part.

Leo half smiles and nods. I look at the other members in the makeup room. Changing clothes, wiping off the sweat after the performance. Ravi isn't here.

"Are you sure?" I ask Leo again. I thought he wanted nothing to do with me. We'd stay like we were for the sake of the group but to be friends again-if that's even what he wants- after he pushed me.

Leo's eyes glaze over. No color. No emotion.

"Yeah, McDonald's this Saturday. I'll come pick you up." He says and walks over to the clothing rack.

"You know I didn't say yes right?"

" Too bad, so sad." Another half-smile.

"AYE! Pass the jacket!" Ravi yells from across the room.

Where'd he come from?

"Where were you?" I demand as I throw the white jacket to him.

"Awe, were you looking for me Hyung?"

"You know I was." I reply and Ken suddenly looks up from the game he was playing on his phone.

"What?" I demand.

He looks between Leo, Ravi, and I and with smirk says, "nothing."

"KEN!"

"Leave him alone. " Leo says and walks away. Oh no, I'm not leaving this alone.

I sigh and walk over to Ken and grab his phone.

"You want it back kid? Then tell your leader what's up?"

Ken looks around the room but no one's here except Ravi and I. Finally he sighs and replys.

" This love triangle thing, it's shocking." He says with a wave of his hand expecting his phone back.

" What love triangle!" I demand.

" You already told me everything but I'm like a living diary for this whole group. I know Ravi's side and Lee Lee Hyungs side?"

Ravi laughs " Lee Lee Hyung?" Ken joins in.

I give a half smile but my eyes well with tears. How burdensome to have everyone come talk to you about their problems but as far as I know Ken he won't ever talk about his. Won't go to someone and share what's on his mind. He smiles but I wonder what hurt he's carrying in his heart.

"KEN!" I yell and end the argument Ravi and Ken were having on weither Koalas live in other parts of the world.

"They're in Australia only! And yeah?" Ken says and looks up at me.

"Kid, you know if you ever need anyone to talk to come to me."

"I'm not telling you what Leo thinks about you." My eyes grow wide at his words. He thinks I'm using him? Is that the kind of person they think I am?

"No child, you said you were a living diary, it must be burdensome holding everyone's secrets and you never talk about your problems. I just want you to know I'm here for you." I say my voice breaking in the middle of my words and tears slowly filling my eyes. I turn and walk out the door right after.

Ravi quickly jumped over a piece of trash as he continued to keep pace with me.

I hadn't even realised that I had already walked out of the building until I saw a half drenched Ravi walking beside me. In fact I hadn't even realised he was walking beside me but now that I realised I stopped. The rain beat down on both of us and I only stopped because of him. Because who knows how long I was walking and how long the poor thing had run to keep pace with me. The MBC building was no longer in sight so we must have been pretty far.

"Are you okay?" He yells the hard rainfall almost drowning him out.

I take a step closer and fall into him, my arms going around him. My nose pressed against his neck I nod slowly. His arms come around me. One on the center of my back, the other around my shoulders. We don't talk as we hold each other close and the rain starts to slow. The pitter patter on the ground growing distant as thunder rolls in the night sky. The cool summer night air blows softly like gentle waves on a cloudless, silent ocean. Ravi's steady pulse being the only thing I actually feel. The only thing I focus on as the thoughts spiraling in my mind numb and die down. The rain falls from his hair like tear drops down one side of my face. The one not pressed against his shoulder.

"You won't believe how long I've dreamt of this." He says in a whisper breaking that moment but at the same time adding to a fire that I didn't even know was burning.

I dreamt of this too I wanted to say but my eyes open and I pull back. One step...then another away from him.

"Goodnight." I say and turn. Turn and walk away from him.

Because yes I've dreamt of this moment and it was everything and more than what I've wished for. I've dreamt of it...just not with him....
