"What the flipping fuck! You did what," Lexi shrieked. "This isn't part of the plan!"

"I know it isn't!" I sighed heavily and ran my hands through my hair.

"Girl, you've got to step up your game. You've passed through phase 1 and 2. The only thing we need to focus on now is blending in with the cool kids and that means Jack."

"But how? If you haven't noticed, but I'm socially awkward," I hissed.

"You have the entire Easter holidays-"

"-Jamie," someone said, knocking on my door. I sighed and turned my head.

Mum was standing outside my door, looking at me. "Would it be alright if you do another day of modelling?"

"Su-"

"Jamie," Lexi screamed from my phone.

"Can we discuss this later? I think Lexi wants to make plans."

"Sure, I was going to ask if you were free tomorrow."

"Lemme just check with Lexi first," I smiled. Mum nodded and soon disappeared to do . . . whatever.

"Hello," I asked once Mum had gone.

"Call Jack," Lexi screamed.

I cringed and shouted "No!"

"Why not?!"

"What if he says no?"

"Do you like him?"

"Yes."

"Then ask him out!"

"But he should ask me out first!"

"Please say you don't believe in that traditional shit," Lexi sighed irritated.

"If Jack likes me, he should make the first move right?"

"He already did," Lexi exclaimed. "You refused him and broke his heart!"

I rolled my eyes at Lexi's use of exaggeration. "I didn't break his heart," I scoffed.

"How do you know? Besides he did his part. One way or another, you guys will go out. You just have to grow a vagina and ask him out!"

"Va-va-vag- what?"

She made some unearthly noise and replied "Yes vagina! Compared to balls, vaginas go through periods, childbirth and many other haunting things and they are still strong. When you hit balls, they instantly become weak!"
