Riley's POV"Where are the rents? " I asked as I chugged down some milk from the carton.
Alex looked up at me, his nose wrinkling as he stood up and grabbed the carton from my hand. "First off, no drinking out of milk cartons." He said as he placed the cap back on and put it into the fridge, and me rolling my eyes, "And your dad called saying that there were gonna have to stay for a few more months."
I groaned, "Gross. I don't like food shopping. And we have no food."
Alex smirked down at me, and nodded his head to the door, grabbing his car keys, "C'mon. I'll come with this time."
Grinning, I ran out into the driveway, "Shotgun!"
"There's only two of us!" He shouted as he sighed and followed me at a slow pace.
"Lets go slow poke!" I said shouting as I stood, vigorously pulling at the door handle, until he eventually unlocked it, getting into the drivers seat.
When I clicked the radio station, Invisible by Hunter Hayes blared out making me happy.
Trust the one who's been where you are wishing all it was, was sticks and stones. Those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone. And you're not invisible
I obnoxiously sang along as loud as I possibly could, annoying Alex as much as I could.
'Hear me out. There's so much more to life than what you're feeling now, someday you'll look back on all these days. And all this pain is gonna be invisible Oh invisible.'
I kept singing along until Alex realized that I wasn't gonna stop and shut the radio off.
"You know your mean right?" I asked pouting as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Yeah I know." Alex said sarcastically before pulling into the Shop Rite as we got out of the car.
When we got into the store, we had grabbed an orange shopping cart and made our way down the fruit and such isle.
"We are defiantly getting this." I said as I held to odd shaped fruit in my hand.
Alex rolled his eyes before grabbing the fruit and setting it down. "No we are not. You will never eat that."
I nodded, my mouth open, "Yeah I will. You don't know me." I scoffed as he put it down.
Alex looked back at me rolling his eyes, "Do you even know what they are?"
Narrowing my eyes, I answered. "Yeah. They're yellow stars." I said trying to convince him that I knew what they were.
Alex rolled his eyes again, "Try Star Fruit."
I scoffed, following him as he grabbed the cart and went down another isle, "I knew that.

When we had gotten back, Alex went to the kitchen to make some food and I went into my bedroom.
In the end, I had ran back to the so called 'star fruit,' and snuck a few into our shopping cart. He realized last minute when the cashier was done ringing it up and he didn't feel like taking it off. So he sighed and bought them.
I got my yellow stars.
When I had gotten into my bedroom, Trevor sat on my bed hands in head as Dylan paced around.
