Ch.1

"Wake up Mina it's time for school" My mom came into my room and flipped my light on. I hate when she turns my light on. "Ok I'm up" I said in my groggy morning voice rubbing my eyes. "Ugh I don't wanna go to school." I laid back down in bed and then realized my mom would get mad if I actually fell back asleep so I slapped myself awake and stood up getting my clothes on. I walked out of my room and sat at the bar to eat some cereal. "Hurry up Mina I have to go to work and you have to walk to school today and probably for a while actually because I have to be at work earlier and can't drive you to school. The neighbor kid also walks to school maybe you can talk to him ya? Alright I put your lunch in your backpack now finish that up and then I got to go." I finished my cheerios and rinsed my bowl then put it in the dishwasher. Grabbing my backpack I slung it on my shoulders feeling the weight of it. First grade is hard, I thought. I puffed my cheeks and went to the front door where my mother was waiting. She opened the door and lightly pushed me out of it. She kissed the top of my head and told me she loved me, waved and stood at her car watching me. I walked to the sidewalk and went right. "The schools that way" she pointed left and laughed. I smiled and walked the right way. "Love ya too mom bye." I skipped a little and my head was down I was making sure not to step on the cracks I didn't want to break my mom's back today. I stopped abruptly when I ran into something well I realized it was a someone when I looked up and my face turned red. "Yah what do you think you're doing?"
