Ch. 6

It's summer now and it's really very easy to hang out with Byungjoo since he's only a few seconds and a tree away from me. I usually sleep longer than he does and so every morning when my mom leaves for work, which is around 7:30am, he says good morning to her and asks if I'm still sleeping she nods her head and tells him to have fun. Then he barges through the door running to my room and at first sings quietly, "Mina, Mina, Mina, get up sleepy head its summer~ Mina, Mina, Mina, if you keep sleeping it will be over~" He gets increasingly louder and starts jumping on my bed. And every morning I pull the covers over my head smiling but I don't want him to know that I'm happy with him waking me up. But finally I give in, "Kim Byungjoo get off my bed right now!" He laughs and flops down on my bed. "I said get off Joo." He doesn't get up and just lays on my legs so I move them really fast under his back. "Yah stop kicking me." "Yah get off of me" "Fine but you better hurry up or I'll eat all your cereal." Bjoo walked out of my room with a smirk on his face. I was afraid I would never get to eat cereal again so I changed really fast. I ran out of my room and found Bjoo sitting at the bar eating my cereal. "Yah, Joo!" But I wasn't actually mad I just wanted him to think so. "What?" He hung his mouth open with chewed up breakfast in it. I went over and sat next to him on the bar stool shutting his mouth my my left hand. "Jeez laweez Bjoo why is it so hard to not talk when you have food in your mouth?" He picked up his spoon again and put more cereal in his mouth. "Well you see Mina, it's just easier to just eat and talk at the same time. Because I get really hungry but you keep asking me all these questions and I have to answer because if I don't you'll get mad but then you get mad if I do answer. So really it's a win win situation for me to talk with my mouth full of delicious food. " I laughed at his explanation. "Yup totally makes sense," I said my tone sarcastic, "But still it's gross so don't do it." Bjoo continued eating my cheerio's as I got a bowl and a spoon so I could eat with him. After we finished I started putting the cereal away and as I did Bjoo reached out and grabbed it. "Yah Bjoo we're done with it. You already had 4 bowls so calm down. Seriously. And don't you dare pout." I pointed my finger at him and he changed his expression immediately. I laughed at that. Randomly Byungjoo excitedly jumped up. "It's trampoline time Mina!" "O my goodness it is isn't it?" I checked my unwatched wrist. "Yes, yes it is." He ran out the back door yelling,"I'm gonna do a backflip today!" "No you are not paboya!" I ran after him out of the door that he left open. "Were you born in a barn? Jeez laweez." I laughed and watched him jump for a second then I ran to the trampoline and rolled onto it. "Ready for this Mins?" "Mhm" I nodded my head and raised an eyebrow. He jumped three times then flipped himself backwards and landed on his back on the trampoline. I was laughing so hard "Joo you didn't even land it." He wiggles his finger at me, "Not yet Mina but I will I will. You just wait." "Ya ok I'll wait." I shook my head at him. That night I asked my mom if Bjoo could stay over. I made sure to ask her when she was tired so I'd have a better chance of her saying yes. I walked up to her and she yawned. "Hey mom?" "Hey Mina?" She bent down and ruffles my hair. "Can Bjoo spend the night?" She yawned, "Ya sure whatever I'm going to sleep brush your teeth please~" she kisses my forehead and smiled weakly as she made her way to her room. I ran to Bjoo who was in my room jumping on my bed. "She said yes Jooo~" "Figured." I smiled and went to my bed and began pulling the covers out from under Bjoo's feet. "Yah what are you doing?" He hopped off my bed and I continued to grab more blankets plus a flashlight. "Follow me paboya." I marched out the back door and to the backyard where we were bouncing around all day. "Ah I see. Are we sleeping on the ground?" "No ya crazy there's bugs on the ground. We're sleeping on the trampoline." I threw the blankets up onto it then I got on it myself Bjoo following. We spread the blankets out and layer on top on one so we had the rest covering us. Since it was summer it was still warm at night. "Joo! We didn't brush out teeth!" "Who cares?" "My mother. Cmon it'll be quick." We ran inside to the bathroom the ran back out two minutes later. "Phew~ I feel better now. Don't you?" "Not really I feel the same." "Ok whatever." I looked up at the sky once I was laying down on our makeshift bed again. I pointed at the really big stars I thought they were really pretty. I noticed Bjoo was staring at me. "What?" "Let's go up there someday ya? Ya." He faced back towards the bright moon. I smiled and thought, ya ok let's.
