I waved a big wave and laughed as I went inside my house. My mom wasn't home yet so I decided to draw. I set my backpack down by the door where I took off my shoes making sure they were out of the way. I ran to my room to get colored pencils and crayons. I stole paper from the printer in my parents room and sat at the bar with the marble countertop. My feet didn't reach the ground when I sat on the bar stool. But I liked to swing my legs back and forth. It was more of a habit and I didn't really notice so mom would tell me to sit still. I grabbed a green crayon and drew hills on the bottom of my paper and colored them in. Then I put the green crayon down and grabbed a yellow colored pencil drawing a big sun on top like the sun was setting behind the big green hills. I decide to draw a person on the hill, a person I had just met although he knew me a little. I drew a boy with soft brown hair and warm brown eyes. I drew a boy named Kim Byungjoo on a green hill in front of a yellow sun. He was smiling. I drew his face as best as my seven year self could. I then put myself right next to him in a triangle shaped dress, Bjoo in a T-shirt and a pair of shorts on stick legs and arms. I drew us close together and we were holding hands. I smiled to myself at the cute picture in front of me. I got an orange colored pencil and scribbled on the top half of the page so it blended In with the yellow sun. I was trying to make it look like a real sunset. I heard the door open and turned my head to see my mom smiling at me. "Hi Mina how was school?" I smiled wide and told her it was great. "Best day of school ever." I continued blending a pink color into my drawing of the sun setting. "Oh really? Did you walk with the neighbor kid?" She pointed with just her finger vaguely in the direction of the neighbors house. "Yup we walked all the way to school together and we're in the same class! His name is Bjoo." She came over and looked at my drawing she smiled Down at it. "Is that him?" She put her finger on the neighbor kid. "Yes~" I turned my head away shyly. "It's a good drawing." She smiled and pat my head. I smiled back as she started to make dinner. It was just my mom and I. I never even met my dad but I loved my mom and she worked really hard. I've always looked up to her. "Do you need help mom?" "No that's ok sweetie, well you can set the table?" "Ok" I walked over to the cupboard and had to reach on my tiptoes to get two plates out and then put them on our small square table by the kitchen. I got us forks then sat down at the table. "Oh wait hey mom do you want some water?" "Oh yes of course thanks." I got us both water and sat back down at the table. Mom put the fried rice on the table so I held my plate up for her to give me some. We ate dinner and talked about our days and cleaned up after we were done. Then we watched some tv and around 9 o'clock she gently pushed my tired body off the couch and into the bathroom where we brushed our teeth. "Goodnight mommy I love you." I hugged her and she kissed the top of my head. "Love you too baby Mina. " I went to my room and got under my fluffy pink comforter. A smile arrived on my face and decided to stay there at the thought of a certain neighbor kid I met.
