After all those years of Elementary school, hundreds of jokes I've heard over and over but still laugh for some reason. So many days of walking to and from school. Now middle school has started and it's not half bad.
I wanna say everyday is the same but it's always a little different with a certain boy I call my best friend.
I was laying in bed trying to sleep as long as I could until I actually had to get up and go to school. I heard the door open and a, "Hi Mrs. Kim" so I put my pillow over my face because I knew the door to my room was going to open any second now. "Kim Mina good morning~" "Yah Byungjoo get out I needa sleep* I groaned scrunched the pillow more over my head. He didn't listen to me but what's new. Bjoo laid on top of me and was singing his new and improved good morning song. "Get up Mina get up get up get up~ it's morning time in Seoul and the sun is waiting to shine on you so get up Kim Mina." I took the pillow off of my head and hit him with it. "Get off of me lil boy." I was trying to sit up on my bed with him still on me, it wasn't working. He eventually got off and I sighed in relief. "Jeez, you're so heavy." He looked at me offended. "Only because of all this muscle I got." Bjoo flexed his "ripped" biceps. "Oh right right." I replied as I rolled my eyes. "Now you better hurry up Mins we gotta leave in ten minutes ok? Ok." "Ya ya." I watched him walk out then close my door and got changed into a light pink pleated skirt with a white T-shirt tucked into it. Completing my look with my white vans. I felt cool enough so I walked out of my room after brushing my hair and found Byungjoo eating a bowl of cheerio's. I laughed and got a bowl for myself from the cupboard then sat next to him grabbing the box of cereal pouring some in my bowl. "Why don't you ever eat breakfast at your own house?" "I just like your company." He couldn't even say his whole sentence without laughing. "My mom never buys me cereal all we have is gross breakfast bar thing that I pretend to eat. Then I come here and you always have cheerio's so I just eat here." "Well one day you're gonna eat all the cheerio's and we'll have none. You'll be sad and will have to eat your Mom's gross bars everyday." He made a really sad face. His lip was pouting so much I thought it was gonna fall off. He looked heart broken. "But Byungjoo that will never happen. Don't worry." I patted his shoulder and he perked right up and ate the rest of cheerio's. "You are so weird." I laughed and ate my breakfast. By the time we both finished it was time to leave. We still walked to school as my mom was still working early and the middle school was really close the the elementary school. We had to walk the opposite direction though and go through the neighborhood but I think I liked this walk better. After we washed our bowls and put the cereal and milk away we were off to school. "I don't understand clouds. They just float up there like nothing. Aren't they full of water? Water can't float. Things float on water. And they're so big. Do you think if you sat on one you would just fall through? Do you think if you scooped up some cloud then brought it down here it would float right back up?" He turned his head toward me and I just shrugged I really didn't know. "That's all ya got?" Bjoo copied my shrug making me laugh. "Ya you ask hard questions." We walked halfway to school with all that rambling he was doing. "Well maybe we should try it sometime, maybe we should go skydiving." I looked at him raising an eyebrow and he looked scared. "Ya no thanks, you know I'm afraid of heights Mins. You can go alone." "Aw ya lil baby" "I'm not a baby" "Whatever Kim Byungjoo." We were both laughing as we made it to the school entrance. We walked in right when the bell rang so there were kids everywhere going to class. Bjoo and I didn't have a class together until English which was third period so we dramatically said out goodbyes going to the room we were supposed to be in right across from each other. "I'll see you after class right?" He was pouting like always. And I replied comfortingly, "Yes Bjoo of course only for five minutes but we'll see each other again so just wait for me ok?" Our arms were stretched across the hallways where there was only a few kids and the just limboed their way under us. "Ok I'll see you in fifty five minutes. Goodbye Mins." He let go of my hand to waved at me and I did the same. "Bye Joo, see you soon." We walked into our classes at the same time looking back at each other one last time in sync and smiled.
