(Y/n)'s mind worked in terrible ways. It tended to dwell on things that - to most people- wouldn't matter, allowing for simple thoughts or actions to spiral into something heavy in moments.
'Of course I'd hold him back.. what else am I good for..' she thought as she made her way down the empty path to her home. A feeling she had grown to hate made itself present inside of her, growing and making her unable to control her already unstable mindset. She knew of ways to slightly hamper the side affects, but even so it felt as if this feeling inside of her, was trying to consume her into nothing.
What made it worse was that once this feeling had arrived, it was there to stay. Any thought she had or emotion she felt was taken from her, and changed into something that increased her pain inside. At times like this she just wanted to be alone. She didn't want others to see this feeling that she loathed about herself. She didn't want her instability to be someone else's burden. But of course, now she wasn't alone. There wasn't a place for her to go where she could hide herself like before.

Throughout their walk home Kuro could gradually feel the negative aura around his eve growing, and for some reason it was all he could focus on. He spent his entire time trying to piece together what was the matter but came up with nothing. He recognized the energy she put off as a familiar sense, something he had found linked to her before. However he had never seen it developing in such a way. He wasn't involved in their relationship enough to know whether not this was worse that her usual moods, and wasn't sure if he should intervene.
Only when (y/n) got home and went straight to bed did he feel like something was genuinely wrong. Although her energy was hard to read, he knew for a fact that she hated her room and sleeping, so whenever she secluded herself there he could tell something was up.

"(Y/n)..?" The vampire called from the bedroom doorway. She was already laying in bed when he arrived. Her headphones isolating her from reality.
The vampire sighed and made his way to the side of her bed, but he stopped for a moment realizing something. He had no idea what he was supposed to do in this situation. He never had deal with something like this before, let alone felt like he needed to in the first place. He thought for a while watching the girl's depressed nature, then glanced away from her for a moment as if he were nervous before eventually placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. It was a small action but he had no experience with this, he was just wanting to create some sort of comfort for her.
(Y/n) tensed at the sense of a hand on her shoulder. After taking a breath she opened her eyes and glanced over her shoulder seeing that it was Kuro. 'and now I'm a problem too.. fantastic..' she thought before looking away once again.
"...(y/n).." Kuro called impulsively. He was nearly confused by his own persistence, he never bothered himself this much. However for some reason he just had this feeling. It made him feel as if he needed to care for the girl. It was alien to him, but he couldn't seem to go against it.
(Y/n) felt her pain growing worse and worse. She knew that Kuro was only being nice but the thought that she was just being a burden was the only thing she could see. "...I'm fine, Kuro.. just, leave me alone..." she sighed and turned away from him. "..I don't want you to feel like you need to put up with me.."
Kuro looked at her with a concerned face as she tried to ignore him. Although she basically told him not to worry, his mind wouldn't let him leave her like this. He didn't understand what was going on inside of him. Part of him was willing to leave as she ordered, but a huge urge to stay and comfort her had overcome him.
Unfortunately, a familiar demon made itself present in his mind, stopping him from further action.

'Are you trying to care for once? How pathetic of you.' It spoke to him in its usual tone of disapproval.
Kuro looked away from the girl and tried to ignore the demon the best he could.
'She doesn't even want you here, and I wouldn't blame her.. it's your fault she's like this, and just like the rest of the world she'll come to hate-"
'Shut it...' Kuro interjected.
'...You know what you are, Kuro. It can't be changed.'
'...leave..' kuro scolded.
This time the presence complied and dissolved into the back of the vampire's mind once more.
