After all the forms are signed and I receive my schedule I walk down the narrow hallway. I peep into a few classes and notice how big they are. They pretty much have every learning tool you could imagine, maybe more. As the hallway gets shorter the minutes seem to get longer. Before I know it I am just inches away from the door to her classroom. My hand grasps the cold handle and the door swings open louder than I expected. Every head turns towards me and I feel every eye on me. I inch towards the teacher as she flashes a beautiful bright smile. She's a skinny little woman with her blonde hair pulled loosely into a bun. Her dress is a pastel yellow with sunflowers on the shoulders. "You must be the new student. I'm Mrs.Sanburg" I tried to speak but no words would come out. I think she caught my nervousness because she said," Well were pleased to meet you" with a smile,"What's your name?" I suddenly forget my name. But I seem to remember just my first name. "Savannah" I stuffer. I hear a few giggles and laughs. I guess moving wasn't such a good idea. I love the fact of open space and a farm with animals but having people laugh at me and all of that, I can't handle that. It's just like back home.

"Honey are you okay?" I think she noticed my sadness. "Ya I'm fine." That's all I manage to say? Ugh I never have anything right to say. "Ok. Well you can pick your seat. Any open seat." I scan the room and there's only one seat. I guess there isn't much of a choice. I giggle to myself as I walk down the aisle of seats. I sit down and look around me. In front of me is a skinny little girl who seems really nice actually. To my right is a really cute blonde boy who seems really shy and athletic. I add a mental note to call dibs on him. To my left is a blonde prissy girl who seems to be one of those popular mean girls. Then behind me is a nerdy kid with glasses and his finger half way up his nose. Ew. I guess this teacher doesn't teach a lot because everyone is still talking after 20 minutes. I sit up in my chair and stare at the clock hoping for time to go faster because I feel really lonely. "Hey I'm Dylan. You don't have to be nervous it's just the first day. Things will get better, trust me. It did for me." He flashes a smile. I look to my right. It's the cute blonde boy I called dibs on! I smile back in response. "Thanks. I'm Savannah Colby." He smiles the brightest smile I've ever seen. "I love the name Savannah. You know girls with the name Savannah are beautiful and very creative. Do you do dance or artistry?" His sophisticated words melt my insides. I actually do dance. "Ya I do dance." "You know, you look like a really great dancer. I should see you dance sometime" I'm sure I'm blushing by now but I don't care. He is so perfect, I can't believe I can develop a crush so fast. I rush to keep the conversation going. "What do you mean by things got better for you?" His smile weakens as he looks at the floor in despair. I knew I should've asked. "I'm sorry I should've asked." He looks into my eyes,"It's fine. It's just, never mind" I don't want to bother him since I just met him. I always come off so annoying. It annoys me. I look straight at the click for about 5 minutes when my stare is disturbed by a poke in my left shoulder. It's that prissy blonde pretty girl. Ew. "My name is Brittany Brown. What's your name? Oh I think I remember it's s s sa sava savannah." She giggles as the brunette in front of me joins in. I frown and turn to look back at the clock. "You don't seem to understand how things go around here." I pull a smart butt remark back "Obviously not. I just moved here captain obvious." She smirks. "Haha she's snotty, I like her. You have lunch next hour, ya?" I nod and she replies,"Sit with us and we will tell you all about how this school works." I nod in agreement and glance at Dylan as he shakes his head at me.
