The Eaters Of Light - Review

I went into this episode completely fucking blind, not because I was being grouchy, but because I learned a very valuable lesson the other day, hype for anything is bad. Sometimes people overhype things to the point were they can't reach any of the expectations. I did this for The Lie Of The Land and all my expectations were obliterated. Plus, when I saw the trailer, I hadn't a fucking clue what was happening. Not because I'm stupid. But because it felt all over the place. Did I begin to understand it when I saw it? Lest find out.

We start with a little girl wanting to climb a hill, but her mother is all like "Oi, you bitch! Get your arse down here right fucking now!" But the girl rejects her command and proceeds up the hill. This indulged me a little, so a plus on the very beginning.

After credits we see the trio but Nardole wearing.... Pyjamas? Was he sleeping as the Doctor came to pick him up? Wow, Capaldi is a assho-

Anyway, they get seperated because of a petty squabble between Bill and The Doctor. This concludes in Bill being with the Romans unintentionally speaking Latin, and Baldy and The Doctor with the barbaric Scottish people.

Bill gets well acquainted with the Romans. Some even showing their sexual orientation. While the other two have to try and persuade the Scots to stop this mindless war and focus on the bigger picture, which Is the monster!

The two violent oppositions meet and get off on the wrong foot. It takes some decent speeches from Bill and The Doctor. Then they join up and save the day!

Yay...

Look. This episode wasn't confusing, I'm not saying that..but it really dragged on, with a over excessive amount of tedious dialogue. I'm not saying that a bit of peace is a bad thing. But hell, I've seen podcasts with less talking them this!

However,  I did like the ending bit where Missy is in the Tardis and her and Doccy try to retain their friendship. I suppose for those who ship Twissy would squeal at this segment.

Final Verdict - 5.5/10

Next week we have a shitton to look forward to :

Lots of Missy
The Mondasion Cybermen!

And....

JOHN SIMM!!!

Bye!
