SimbaWith my feet pounding on the sand and charging full speed across the desert, I can feel my heart racing, not only because of the fact that I haven't stopped to take a break yet, but because of how this ends. Will I be able to take the throne? Will I succeed to make the Pridelands a place for happiness once again?
I didn't even realise that I was in the Pridelands until I took a moment to process it. There was nothing except rocks and dead trees scattered around and it looked bleak and empty. No life was in my view and that's when I became furious. How could Scar let this happen? Why did he let this happen?
I slowly cross the desolated land until I reach a ledge and look out over my former home. Mostly lacking in life, it is all grey. Seeing it more clearly now, I feel a sense of determination to change this place back to what it once was.
"Simba, wait up!" Says a very familiar voice behind me. It's Nala. She trots up next to me on the ledge. "It's awful, isn't it?" She says.
"I didn't want to believe you."
"What made you come back?" Nap asked.
"I finally got some sense knocked into me. And I've got the bump to prove it. Besides, this is my kingdom. If I don't fight for it, who will?"
Nala: I will.
Simba: It's going to be dangerous.
"Danger? I laugh in the face of danger. Hah ha ha haa!" She says quoting me from when we were younger.
"I see nothing funny about this," says another voice coming from behind.
"Timon? Pumbaa? What are you doing here?" I ask.
"At your service, my liege." Pumbaa bows.
Timon takes a look at the Pridelands. "Uh.. We're going to fight your uncle ... for this?"
"Yes, Timon; this is my home."
"Phh. Talk about your fixer-upper. Well, Simba, if it's important to you," Timon bows, "We're with you to the end."
I smile at Timon, appreciating my friends and how much they're willing to sacrifice for me.
Standing on the ledge we all view the work ahead of us as a dark and almost angry cloud begins to cover the sky.
"I haven't seen a cloud like this in forever," Says Nala.
"It never rained while I was gone?" I asked with concern.
I wondered where my mother would be right now.
We make our way closer to Pride Rock our of sight. Once we are close enough, we stalk slowly without a sound. Nala, Timon, Pumbaa and I, from behind a log, observe the mass of hyenas.
"Hyenas. I hate hyenas," Timon states. He then begins to whisper to me. "So what's your plan for getting past those guys?"
"Live bait."
"Good idea," he says, but then realises what I mean. "Hey."
"Come on, Timon-- you guys have to create a diversion." I tell him
"What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the hula?"
"Yes, actually," I say.
"Fine..." He then Taos Pumbaa on the shoulder. "Come on Pumbaa."
"Huh?"
"I'll explain to you on the way."
As Timon and Pumbaa do their Hula dance claiming the attention of the hyenas. They run off, screaming, leading some of the hyenas away. Nala and I creep by.
