Skyla: Hey, guys! Things are gonna get hectic now that everyone's in the same school.

Red: Who are you talking to?

Skyla: Why, the readers of course!

May: Can we just start the story already?

Skyla: But I wanna talk more!

May: That's exactly why I wanna start the story. You're starting to get annoying.

Skyla: Hmph, fine. But just so you know, Ruby's gonna be your older brother! (I just spoiled it for you guys!)

May: SAY WHAT!?

Skyla: Teehee. ACTION!

The dexholders, Skyla, Mark, and Travis gathered round their usual table during breakfast. All of them were there except Blue. "Has anybody seen Blue?" Green asked. "No, not since this morning," Yellow said, frowning.

The missing girl suddenly skipped up to them. "I know something you don't!" Blue sang. "What is it?" Red asked. "Not telling!" Blue said mischievously. Everyone at the table groaned. "C'mon, pretty please?" Skyla pouted.

"Um, lemme think--NO!" Blue shouted happily. "Well, whatever it is, it certainly put her in a good mood," Mark observed. "I know an easy way to get it out of her," Travis said.

"Really? What?" Diamond asked. Instead of answering, Travis threw out one of his pokèmon, a Vaporeon. "All right, let's move," he hissed to Vaporeon. The two of them slipped away from the table, leaving everyone to curiously stare after them.

"I wonder what he's planning?" Pearl said. Skyla shrugged. "But don't worry, this is normal behavior for him," she said. They took a look at Blue, who was still daydreaming and thinking about whatever secret she was keeping from them. She hadn't heard the plan to force the secret out.

"I'm not sure if what Travis just did is considered 'normal'," Sapphire remarked. "He did it all the time back home, going off on little missions and stuff like that," Mark sighed. "And Sky always tagged along." "Whatever he did, it was always for the good," Skyla recalled. "He would sneak into the mansions of the rich, steal some bags of money, and give them to the poor."

"Yeah, and Sky was too scared to go in, so she ransacked the kitchens to find berries for the forest pokèmon," Mark added. Skyla punched him on the shoulder. "That's personal!" she scolded.

"That's either really brave, or really stupid," Ruby commented. "It was both, but we had lots of fun," Skyla admitted. "It was like Travis had no fear." "I never took part in their raids," Mark said. "In our kingdom, you're sentenced to death if you're caught trespassing."

"We both had to hunt and gather in the forest for food, and our mom would cook whatever we brought home," Skyla said. "That's basically how we lived: selling whatever we didn't cook, and doing oddjobs to raise money," Mark agreed.

"What about your dad?" Gold asked. The two siblings grew quiet."I'm gonna go look for Travis," Skyla said abruptly. She stood up and marched away from the table. Crystal kicked Gold's shin under the table, sensing that he had touched a rough subject. Gold silently winced.

"Our dad... died when Skyla was 7," Mark said in a low voice. "He-he was protecting us, from a group of people who were attacking the village. They were experts in Psychic-types, so we didn't stand a chance." Mark took a shaky breath, then continued. "Our dad told is to run away, to find shelter. But the people had set fire to the forest, and Sky went back to save the Pokèmon. All the Pokèmon managed to get out all right, but Sky never came back, so Dad went to find her. She was being strangled by one of the people, some guy called Orros. Dad didn't even have his Pokèmon with him... he just charged the guy. But Orros had an Alakazam with him, a highly trained one."
