CHAPTER:1

Skipping to class with joy, I erased all worries of turning up late to Biology as the endless hallway narrowed to my classroom. But Mr. Ali had other intentions, he slammed the door shut on seeing my petite figure approaching, wiping all evident happiness from me.

"Excuse me, Sir!" I whispered in desperation.
Cursing under his breath, he growled profanities.

"Hurry up and take a seat, please Turner," He ordered with an irritated look.
A perpetual habit teachers had of calling by surnames. Rolling me eyes impatiently, I quickened my pace to my seat, as if that would make my reddened cheeks turn paler. I slumped onto the wooden chair next to Alice.

"Hey!" We both whispered as we started to giggle.

Austin began to erupt in jealousy, from our greetings and made a straight attempt to pull on my ponytail. Ripping his hand off and turning completely clockwise, I hissed "What do you want, Aust?"

"Wheres my, 'hey Aust i missed you?" He joked with a tiny of serious jealousy issues.

"Fine! Hey Aust-ralia! I missed you," I mimicked a stereotypical high-pitched girl.

"Please, put in a bit more effort next time." He remarked sarcastically, feeling accomplished with annoying me.
It seems like quite the shock when you witness my drastic change in emotions. From skipping to class, to mentally threatening Austin. But alas, it wasn't my periods controlling me but rather Austin's childlike mind. You'd think I'd gotten use to his annoying ways by now, but that's actually the complete opposite. I've known Austin my whole life, yet everyday he finds a new way to surprise me with just how annoying he can be.

"Turn around Turner! First your late and now your talking to..." Mr.Ali began a long-due lecture but never had a chance to finish.

"Yeah Turner, stop trying to be bad ass!" Chase yelled halfway from the class.
I really didn't know what it was with boys these days, as if gaining a higher level of testosterone was gaining them more stupidity.
Responding with one of my deadly dirties, I turned around to astonishment at how filled the board now was with knowledge.
'Wow!' I thought, what a way to get distracted Vivienne.

Mr. Ali sarcastically thanked Chase for his rude interruption, then settled down the class as Austin and Alice tried to hold in laughter which fought to escape their mouths.
I gave them both a fair amount of fatal threats as they made the right choice- silence.

Soon after I finished cramming my stubby fingers around the pen I was writing my notes down with, the bell rang, signalling freedom. I slouched off my table and out the door to my locker. My joy filled morning had been destroyed by a worthless lesson of biology. I, as usual, got sucked into a world of my own thoughts, before being rudely interrupted.

"You know i love you right!" Laughed Chase as he skipped in line with my pace.

"Ah, yes! Is that why you decided to humiliate me in class, like do you think these cheeks can get any redder without bursting?" I questioned, pointing to my tinted cheeks.
He blurted out to excuses which sounded like gibberish to me, to cover up his ass.
But the bell rang, disturbing our comfortable silence and dangerously piercing holes into my eardrums.

"And there goes the bell, see ya in class Viv!" He yelled as he started running down the hallway.

I shook my head and rolled my eyes. Realising that I didn't want to be late for another class, I bolted after Chase and across to my locker. Unlocking my locker with anticipation I grabbed whatever books my hands grasped first and made a fast beeline to class.
But time, it wasn't always on my side as I slammed into a hard surface. Was it a stainless steel door or was it Nathan Jilkes' chest? I silently prayed it wasn't the latter as I squinted, recovering from a painless injury.

"Sorry about that!" I blurted out, hypnotised by his emerald green eyes.

"Here, let me!" He insisted.

I didn't realise what he was talking about as I became a mesmerised dummy.

He bent down and effortlessly picked up my books whom decided to dramatically cla inch themselves to the ground. With embarrassment I grabbed my books off of him, making sure to brush a few fingers across his.

"See ya round, Viv," He turned on his heel with a wink in sync.

With confusion as to how he knew a sobriquet only spoken by close friends, I bolted to class.
With all hopes of going to class early faded, I mentally convinced myself that I was Usain Bolt at his final Olympic Games before retirement.
'I can do this! I can run like the wind! Run like my man Bolt!' I endlessly encouraged myself as I sneaked inside of another classroom.
I squealed my greetings to Alice, not looking at her, with a breathless voice.
When no squeal echoed through my eardrums I slowly turned my neck towards the direction of Alice. But I was confronted by none other than Nathan, the man himself. Confusion was the last of my emotions, as I felt my cheeks tint into a darker shade of red for the hundredth time today.
'At least I didn't blurt out what had happened in the hallways previously to a non-existent Alice' I thought.
I slowly sank into my seat and began to pick up a pen, ready to learn.
But it's not only time who isn't always on my side, education wasn't either as I felt a hissing voice speak up.
"Don't even think about flirting with Nathan, he's my man! Don't get too carried away sitting next to him, he's my boyfriend after all," Rebecca hissed with a smirk in tow.

I didn't even need to waste another second in rolling eyes or flexing my neck muscles to turn around, knowing it was none other than Rebecca. She flipped her red curls in my face and ruffled my mid-length straight brown locks, as if I'd been her missing pet dog, just found. Throughout high school I've always tried to keep a fair distance away from Rebecca and her immature dramas.
'I guess today was the day things changed', I thought as I straightened out my locks.

"Say something girls?" Nathan questioned, delayed, as he glanced at the both of us- confused.

"Nope," Rebecca lied as she pulled one of her innocent acts on show.

She was a great liar and actress, I had to give that one to her. It was a shame, however, she's wasting such a talented gift of hers, in exchange for nothing. She could just join me in the upcoming school play 'Peter Pan'.
Nathan nodded in answer, returning to his studies.
After that period, the rest of the day seemed to zoom by and before I knew it, I was at the gates accompanied by my friends saying my goodbyes.
