You and Soda were the cutest couple in Tulsa! You and him went together like peanut butter and jelly. Nothing will ever break us apart you thought.
You went to the DX after school to visit Soda. You walked in, and Soda took a deep breath and gave a fake smile. You looked concerned "Hey love... What's wrong?" He cleared his throat and mumbled "Look y/n we really needa talk" you looked at your feet and back up at him thinking what's going on? What's he need to talk about? You had to many questions and not enough answers. "So talk" you said in a sweet inosent voice. Steve walked in. Soda roled his eyes "Steve! Man could ya please give us a minute?" Steve stopped walking, looked around "Yea sure man. I'll be back here" he pointed to the garage door and walked out.
Soda looked back at you "Look y/n maybe we need to take a break" you opened your mouth to say something then shut it "But- but why!?" You asked, your eyes starting to sting. He shifted around "We are too close, the last person I got close to cheated on me! I just! I'm not ready, I thought i was, but I guess not. Hey we can try again in a few years" you shook your head and looked at the ceilling to keep the waterworks in, you looked back at him "No, no I don't think we can. Look Soda I'm sorry. I guess I was just a waste of time" you started for the door, a warm tear escaped from your eye and ran down your cheek. Soda now had a sorrowful look on his face "Your not a waste of time. I lov-" you turned around and cut him off "Save it Soda. I'm just gonna leave and you don't ever have to think about me ever again. Look, its ok. I understand." You wiped your eye and faked a smile, you walked out of that door, never planning on returning.
~ 6 months later ~
You had not left your house but 4 times in 6 months. Your best friend Taylor was getting worried.
Taylor walked into your room "Hey wanna come to the karaoke with me?" You took out your earbuds. "Um... maybe another time" she roled her eyes "Look y/n you've been saying that for 6 months now! Please just come!" She begged. "Fine! Let me get ready" I you sat up and put on some light wash skinny jeans and a gray hoodie. You put your hair in a braid down the back and you went with dark makeup, mostly blacks, and clear lip gloss. You put on you black uggs and walked out. It was November, so it was cold outside.
Y'all pulled up at the bar where they had the karaoke. You both got out of the car and started for the door.
When y'all walked in there was a gang of boys at the frount, you reconized five of them, Steve, Dally, Johnny, Pony, and Two Bit. But thankfully no soda, there were a few more boys but none you knew. You and Taylor sat down at two empty bar stools and you both ordered a coke. You had stopped drinking Pepsi. There was already someone singing, she had a great voice, st was singing Scars to your Beautiful by Alessia Cara.
You took a drink and spit your coke out of your nose when a tall, handsome young man walked in and gave all his buddies high fives... it as Soda!! To be honest he looked like crap! He wasn't wearing his usual plaid shirt, he had on a gray and blue baseball tee on. You didn't know he likes those shirts! He sat down beside Pony and watched the singer. Taylor must of saw him too, cause she turned around and ordered another coke.
After a few more singers Soda got up and walked over to the bar "Hi uh can I have a Pepsi?" He asked. You tried to hide but it was useless. He looked over and didn't seem to see you, but he turned back and caught your eye. "Here you go sir" the man said as he tried to hand Soda the drink, soda just stood there and stared at you "Sir? Your Pepsi" he said once again. Soda seemed to come out of another world "What? Oh yea thanks. Have a nice night" he took the drink and headed back to his seat. Once you got a closer look soda had huge bags under his eyes and his hair was a mess.
Once the singer that was on left you saw Soda get up and go talk to the dj. About 3 minutes later he appeared on the stage with a mic in his hand, he was stating at you. A tear fell from his eye, he quickly wiped it off and the music started. You knew this song, you listened to it all the time, it was The Reason by Hoodastank.
He held the mic up and he never took his eyes off of you, he started "I'm not a perfect person
There's many thing I wish I didn't do" he was tearing up pretty bad. "But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know" he was a great singer! it was amazing! "I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new" he was crying now. Not like bawlin but there were tears. He was not gonna stop looking at you. You looked over to the gang, they were looking at you too! "And the reason is you" that's when you realized this song was dedicated to you! "I'm sorry that I hurt you

I wish I could take it all away" as he sang you could feel your face get hot and your eyes starting to fill up. "And be the one who catches all your tears
That's why I need you to hear" you looked at the gang again they were still looking at you, Pony was crying. You looked back at the stage "ve found a reason for me

You had heard enough! You got up and stormed out the door. Soda stopped singing and took off after you.
You were walking down the street and lighting a cigarette, you never smoke, only when you are stressed or just want to. You put the cigarette into your mouth. All of a sudden someone grabbed your arm spinning you around, you were face to face with a panting Sodapop. He jerked the cigarette out of your mouth and threw it onto the ground. "Hey!" You said as he stomped it. "I miss you y/n! You were my everyth-" you stopped him by jerking your arm away "I don't wanna hear it Soda" he grabbed you again "Look just listine to me. For one second please!" He was crying still. You were not crying "Geez Soda! What can be so importan! Soda just-" he sniffed "Please! Let me talk!" You shut up "Then talk!"
"I don't know what I was thinking! I'm so stupid! Y/n i have never forgiven myself. I have not left the house but 2 time, tonight makes 3. I burned all my flanals, everytime I looked at one I remember when you used to steal them and wear it all over town." You felt a tear fall down your cheek. He continued "y/n that song ment something, I ment every word! I wasn't planning on singing, I don't ever sing, the gang didn't even know I could, no one did, just my shower" he chuckled a little. You biting your lip to keep from bawlin "Soda I-" he stopped you once again "No. I need to finish before you tell me to get out of you life or something. Y/n I had to talk to you. Once I let you go I though I'd never see you again." He paused "I'm sorry to take up your time, I just had to tell you how I fel-" you shut him by laying a passionate kids on his lips. You pulled away "It's ok. Really. I forgive you" you smiled through the tears, you two were standing in the middle of the street crying, smiling, and kissing.
Soda never broke your heart again. You two went out and bought all new plaid shirts!
