2. Bring me to Life:

This is Evanescence's most successful song yet. It featured on the Elektra soundtrack and movie, and was in the top 10 in heaps of countries. Probably even number 1. It is an amazing track, with an great video set in a gothic metropolis, where Amy danced across the side of the building in search for the music which is drawing her like she was attached by string. Once again, it was an amazing video which encapsulated the mood of the song perfectly. Happy reading!

Over-head the moon hung in the sky, accompanied by twinkling stars which danced through the darkness. In comparison to me though, they were pitiful; their shine was dulled in my presence. Who could surpass me in anything?

I was living perfection.

Underneath the hanging limbs of the twisted willow, I twirled and spun with the sound of my own humming. My pointed toes were forcing themselves through the end of my silk ballet shoes and into the grass covered earth. Me feet were bloody, aching. My body exhausted from dancing non-stop for days and days.

The times the sun had risen, only to fall and leave me in darkness had escaped me. My guess would be 5 days at least. 5 days of pure and utter bliss, paired with a strange fear that I will stop. If I stop, eternal darkness awaits me.

I don't remember anything but dancing and the music which seems to hollow me the more I hum it. My mind is a clean slate, only to be filled by the my monotonous surroundings, music and dance. I had nothing to live for, so why, may you ask I continue to dance and save myself from death?

I have no idea.

Maybe it was instinctual, or perhaps I was more frightened of Death than I thought, but no matter how strongly I wanted to... I couldn't cease the twirling of my feet against the dirty grass. It felt as if I had dreamt so long, I couldn't dream anymore.

Hmmm... Dreaming. Sleep. Both offers seemed strangely tempting.

Yes, sleep. I slowed my twirl, my aching muscles screaming for stop, to keep on stopping. Cautiously, my movement until my muscles gave way beneath me and I collapsed onto the soft, green grass. My body rejoyced at the feeling of peace spreading across my tingling limbs.

Slowly, I fell into darkness.

All I could hear was the climaxing music, which I had been dancing in a hypnotised state for the last few days. The voice was loud, melodious, deep, female. Those past days I had not been able to fully connect or hear to the song, but now it pounded through me clearly.

The words held in me in their arms, as I slipped further into death and darkness. Soundlessly, I whimpered in fear. Fear of death and the beautiful darkness which was enveloping me.  But somehow, the music was leading me further into the core of the darkness, making me feel safer there than in the vacuous space I wandered in now.

Slowly, I was lowered into the darkness, my arms out-stretched in anticipation of a wall or something solid. Slipping myself into the core of eternal-darkness, I lost myself and began my trek to heaven.

Never though, did I forget the song which on my way to the Afterlife never left me. It was permanently climaxed.

Bring me to life....
