Chapter 1: Magnus bane

Once upon a time in the far away city of Edom lived a young and beautiful boy with the most sparkling golden green eyes and the biggest smile. He was kind and always did as told. He believed that everyone had courage and love inside them. It was like magic his mother told him.

He lived with his parents in a very noble home. Quite big with servants who were treated nicely and respected.

His mother loved him very much and told magnus that his kindness was rare and special and to always be kind and love no matter what.

His father was a merchant and would do anything to see a smile on his wife and sons face.

In the late afternoon of spring magnus and his mother were down in the garden planting a bed of bright yellow sunflowers and cherry red roses, their favorite.

They laughed and smiled. Magnus couldn't ask for a better life.

A few days later tragedy struck...

His mother had come down with an illness and was always in bed.

Magnus visited her quite often when allowed by his father.

When the doctor came to Asmodeus bane and told him his wife wouldn't make it, he stayed strong for his son. His only purpose to protect and love in his life.

When his mother asked for him, magnus sprinted to her side. His mother gave him a sad,but hopeful smile.

“Magnus my dear son, before I must go with the angels...”a tear slowly slide down magnus small, pained face. His mother touched his face with her hand. Gently wiping  his tears away. “ I need you to be strong, sweetheart. We will meet again someday. I want you to always have courage, see the kindness and beauty in others, find love. Stay strong for me Sayang, Take this ring and you'll always have me with you, wherever you go ”  

The ring was nothing special, just a simple silver ring with 'aku cinta kamu” engraved in the inner side of it and with a small opening that framed a picture of him and his beloved mother. Once he took it, he would never take it off.

“I will try ibu, I will miss you alot, but i will try for you. Aku cinta kamu ibu.”Magnus said silently Crying.

With a watery smile, his mother's last words were Aku cinta kamu Sayangs.

The words meant for her husband and son who embraced eachother as they saw the person they loved the most leave their world forever.

At the age of 15, Asmodeus thought it was time for magnus to have a mother again.

He asked his son what his thoughts were.

Magnus had agreed that he wanted a family again,bno one could replace his mother, but he wanted his father to be happy so he agreed and remembered to always have courage and be kind no matter what.

A few months later Lord Asmodues was married to Lady Lillith a devious women she was. Her eyes gleamed black like the darkness at night, she was an angel they said, but to everyone who met her she was a demon in disguise.

Magnus not only gained a new stepmother but also two obnoxious stepbrothers Johnathan and Sebastian. Two boys with Golden blonde hair as pure as gold, one had sterling green eyes while the other had the darkest black ones. They both however where just like their mother. Cold hearted.

Upon arriving to their home, Lillith asked the Lord that she thought his house was bigger, but either way she found a way to make it all for her two boys and herself.

“Hello my name is magnus” he greeted his stepmother and stepbrothers with a smile.

“What a strange name, ooo nice ring may u have it.” Sebastian said while glancing at his ring.

“I'm sorry it was mother's and I must never take it off.” he replied

“What a shame it would of looked wonderful with my winter coat.” Johnathan said

While his father showed Lillith their room, he showed his new brothers theirs.

“These closets are to small!!!” Cried Sebastian

“Well there isn't much room but if you'd like I could share mine”magnus explained with a tight smile.

Have courage and be kind he thought

“That's a splendid idea maggie” Johnathan cheered.

“Yes indeed it is brother” Sebastian agreed.

Months after this magnus father had to leave on a merchants run

“Magnus I leave you in good hands and shall return in a few weeks. I'll even bring you something from my travels.”

“Ooo I want a new silk scarf, I want new leather boots please” Sebastian and Johnathan cried.

“Got it boys, magnus what do you want ”

“I want a flower from the last place you stop at for your sales. ”

“That's quite an odd gift,but whatever he is strange” Sebastian whispered to his brother.

“You got it son, aku cinta kamu” his father said as he loaded himself on his carriage and waved goodbye as magnus ran and yelled aku cinta kamu ayah, see you in a few weeks!!!

His father smiled and waved. Soon his carriage disappeared into the green forest. While magnus panted and ran back home to his step mother and brothers.

A few weeks later....

News from his father had not arrived yet and magnus was getting worried.

A few days later, a messenger had appeared at the gates and magnus had ran to open it for him.

He new the messenger his name was woolsley Scott.

“Is there any news about my father” he asked

I am quite sorry magnus, your fathers carriage crashed this was all that was recovered.

He held up a small flower, a lily, and magnus felt his whole world crash beneath him again.

His mother was gone and now his father.

They had a funeral and life was never the same for magnus after that day.

His stepmother fired all the staff. He became her and his stepbrothers servant and slept in the cellar.

His only friends were animals. mice named Raphael, Ragnor, and Tessa.

Did I mention the evil cat named Church. Yeah he always tried to eat them.
           
Magnus life was turned upside down and how could he keep his promise to his mother now? For he had no courage and what was the point of being kind. He still tries and he would succeed. His step mother and step brothers could not ruin his whole life forever.  The spark of hope magnus has left would help him find his way to succeed.
