As Hook and his crew were sailing to Neverland on the Jolly Roger, back in London, Mr and Mrs. Darling were reacting as well as any parent would when they find out that their child has been abducted. The entire Darling household was filled with sadness. The family dog, Nana, was moping rather than being her usual energetic self, but with the children gone she had nothing to and no way to help around the house for her job was to be the childrens' nanny, as her name showed. Mrs. Darling was sitting in the children's nursery, simply so she could be surrounded by their belongings. At approximately 3:30 in the afternoon Mr. Darling came home from work and automatically went to the nursery and joined his wife in simply hoping, praying, and wishing that their children would return home to them. When the doorbell rang the Darlings were confused because they were not expecting anybody. They walked to their front door with the old Newfoundland trotting after them and when Mr. Darling opened the door he was taken aback by arms wrapping around his neck in a hug. When he pulled away he was greeted with the sight of a young woman with blue eyes that were filled with happiness, long, curly, blonde hair that hung freely down to her midback. He noticed that she stood at about 5'7" with a skinny physique, and a smile filled with pearly teeth that stretched from ear to ear. This young woman was none other than Wendy Darling. The first and only daughter of the Darlings, and Michael and John's older sister.
"Father! Oh how I've missed you!" Wendy said.
"Wendy my dear what on Earth are you doing here? You're supposed to be in Wales." Mr. Darling asked.
"It was my last year father. I'm done with boarding school. Don't you remember? " She responded while hugging her mother.
"Wendy dear, we are so happy that you're back...but..." Mrs. Darling was about to say before Wendy cut her off.
"Oh I'm sorry for interrupting you mother but where are John and Michael?" Wendy asked curious to where her younger brothers are because they are usually the first ones to greet her when they see that she's returned from Wales.
Mr and Mrs. Darling looked at each other sadly before gazing at their oldest child that was looking at her parents with her questioning blue eyes.
"Wendy.....dear...... Michael and John aren't here." Mrs. Darling said with her voice on the verge of tears.
"Where would they be? And why do you look as if you're about to cry mother?" Wendy asked for she had no idea what had happened to her family while she was away.
Mrs.Darling turned around to not let her daughter see her cry and let out a tiny sob while covering her eyes with her hands. At this point Wendy was both perplexed and scared because she had never seen her mother this upset before.
"Wendy" Mr.Darling called. Wendy turned around and looked upon her father's sad and tired eyes.
"Wendy" he tried again, "Your brothers have been kidnapped." He said as he went over to his sobbing wife trying to console her.
Wendy simply laughed because she thought that her parents were joking with her. "But really, where are they?" She asked again
"Wendy, we aren't lying, your brothers have been kidnapped." Mr.Darling said yet again
"No...no...no no no no this can't be true! How is this possible?! Who would do this?!" Wendy yelled.
"We don't know, we have hired a man that promised us that he is going to try his best to bring back the boys." Mrs. Darling said while trying to catch her breath. Mr. Darling was patting her back and holding her trying his best to try and ease her pain. Nana whimpered, walked over to Mrs.Darling, and laid her large, fluffy head on Mrs. Darling's lap. Wendy didn't respond. She excused herself and walked away from the living room over to the nursery that she and her brothers had spent most of their lives in and let her tears fall. She went towards the window seat, opened the window, and gazed at the stars that seemed duller than usual. As Wendy looked at the stars she remembered how when she was younger her mother used to always read her and her brothers bedtime stories. This thought caused her to shed more tears so she stopped thinking about it and continued to look at the two stars that were next to each other. While she was looking at the stars and thinking about all of the make- believe games that her brothers and her used to play while she lived in London she heard her father continue to console her crying mother and snapped out of remembering the joyous memories
"John... Michael... I want you both to remember to be brave and strong, don't give up, have faith and trust in the fact that you both will return to London, and to the man that's going to try and return them home...... please don't forget that we love them and want nothing more for them other than to see them at home... please don't give up and try, thank you." Wendy said. She found comfort in talking to the stars, it made her feel as if Michael and John could hear her, as for the man, she hoped that he did succeed. She however did not know the struggles that awaited the crew of the Jolly Roger as they were sailing to Neverland.
