Merlin tripped over a stubborn root poking out underneath the dead leaves.
"Ow!" He exclaimed as he landed roughly in the underbrush. He was currently on an herb-hunt for Gaius. There had been a new disease spreading around Camelot lately, and Merlin had to go to the edge of the woods of Camelot to find the correct herbs in order to make the medicine. He had been gone since dawn this morning, and he was getting tired, as was the sun setting. He decided to camp under a sturdy oak tree for the night. In a matter of seconds he had a fire started, thanks to his magical abilities, and was settling under the tree with his blanket.
The night went by quickly, with no sounds to disturb him, and Arthur flooding his dreams. The way he walks, his smile, how peaceful he looks minutes before he has to be woken up. The quick, awkward glances at his body. The way he talks to Gwen. The way he does everything with Gwen.
Merlin woke with a start. Gwen and Arthur. Psh. The sun had already rose, so he decided to try and search for a few more herbs, then head back. He was rolling up his blanket when he heard something in the bushes.

~~~
Arthur had a hard time waking up this morning without Merlin to help him. He knew that his servant was out collecting herbs for Gaius, but it was hard adjusting to his absence. There was already clothes on the floor, papers scattered all over his desk, and empty dishes on the table from only one day. Arthur looked around the room drowsily, wondering what he had on the docket for today.
"Gwen!" The foolish Prince remembered. "I was supposed to meet her by the gates at dawn!" He had totally forgot that he made plans to go out in the woods with Gwen for a day of chatter and relaxation. He sprung out of bed, wishing Merlin was there to gather his things for him.
"Took you long enough." Gwen teased with a small laugh when Arthur finally arrived by the gates.
"I'm sorry Gwen, it's hard adjusting to Merlin's absence." Arthur shyly defended, still feeling guilty for his tardiness. Gwen laughed again and questioned where the horses were.
"Right over there," Arthur pointed towards two horses tied up by a shop. "Now lets go before anybody sees us together."
Gwen and Arthur rode out to the edge of the woods, cracking jokes along the way. "This seems like a suitable spot," Arthur mentioned, motioning towards a small clearing in the woods.
"Looks fantastic, as long as I'm with you." Gwen smiled and looked longingly at the Prince, who jumped off his horse and swooped her down into a kiss. Gwen giggled and pulled away, "Now let's hurry up and relax, we don't have all day". This resulted in more laughs and comments while Arthur began laying down the blankets and pillows.
~~~
Merlin put on his pack and slowly began treading to where the noise came from. Despite his slow pace, he managed to crack a few branches and make a considerable amount of noise. Suddenly there were more noises, and it sounded like another person walking towards him. Bandits! Merlin thought, and turned around in a flash, beginning to sprint in the opposite direction.
"HALT" Came a loud, defiant, familiar voice along with the poke of a sword in his spine. Merlin did so and wondered who this was.
"Merlin?" The voice said, as it lowered the sword. The servant spun around.
"Arthur?" They were both equally confused. "What are you doing out here?"
"None of your business, Merlin." Arthur snapped, embarrassed that of all people, Merlin found him in the woods. Suddenly Merlin knew what he was doing out here. Gwen. It was always Gwen.
"Oh I see. Your out here with Gwen aren't you." Merlin interrogated, adding a bit of attitude to his tone.
"Of course not! Why would I be?" Arthur desperately tried to cover up the fact that he had feelings for a servant girl.
"Arthur? Is everything alright?" Gwen's voice rang out from the wilderness. Arthur shut his eyes in defeat.
"Yes Gwen, I'll be back in a minute." Arthur called back. "Ok. So I am. But you can't say anything to anyone understand?" He lowered his voice and stepped closer to Merlin. The servant fidgeted, liking the disciplinary side of Arthur.
"What are you going to do about it?" Merlin teased. Arthur knew what he was doing, and decided to give in. He stepped even closer to Merlin, their faces now inches apart. He could feel his servant's hot, quivering breath on his cheek as he put a firm grasp on his butt.
"I think you know what I would do." Arthur breathed into his ear. Merlin pressed up against the Prince, wanting more.
"Why don't you show me?" He seductively whispered. Arthur seemed to melt at the idea. He grabbed Merlin's neck and pulled him to a deep, hungry kiss. He moaned against his servants small mouth. Merlin decided to press him further and began grinding his crotch against the Prince's, feeling his length harden.
"Oh Merlin stop we can't do this here.." Arthur said, not really wanting to stop.
"You're right, later. Hm?" Arthur nodded and smiled down at Merlin in his arms. "Well, you should get back to Gwen, she probably ate all of your favorite cheese, unless you forgot to pack it. (Anyone remember cheese?😝) Merlin smirked and received a not so soft pat on the butt. Arthur chuckled and started to turn around.
"Oh and Merlin, don't tell anyone about this either understand?" Merlin smiled and nodded, knowing what would happen if he did. They both went their separate ways, and never stopped thinking about each other for the rest of the day.
