Slowly Madison began to stir from her slumber, her body having healed itself, her head moved lightly and she groaned from tiredness and slight pain. Attempting to move her hand, wanting to rub her tired eyes before opening them, she found her first touch to be wet. Her brows furrowed sleepily as she tried to move her hands but couldn't, and then she remembered what had happened. Her eyes shot open and she threw her previously laid back head forward so she could look around. Glancing down she saw her arms were practically bolted to the chair she was sat in, though her arms were positioned over the arm rests slightly and her hands sat in two buckets of water. "What in the hell?!" She tried to shake her arms and pull from the restraints but she couldn't. Eyes beginning to dart around the room, trying to find anything familiar to her but she was unsuccessful. The room was semi-dark, a light above her and a table and chair in front of her. Behind the opposite chair was a mirror and in the corner of the room above the door was a camera. "Hey, you've got the wrong person!" she began to shout.
(FWB) God I feel like Vanessa when Francis took her, screaming that they'd taken the wrong girl. I just hope this time it was a mistake of identity (EOFWB)
"I know someone's there! I've been in enough police interrogation rooms to know that's a two way mirror probably with some creepy behind it, and others watching the monitor" she said, flicking her gaze from the mirror to the camera as she spoke of it.
Behind the glass stood a few guards, all with folded arms as they watched the girl intently, sizing her up "She's got quiet the mouth on her" one of the men commented. "You got her file?" another asked turning just as it was handed to him. "Cops at the wreckage were able to track back the shipping container's to a warehouse, lot of the stuff had been moved out or destroyed, her's was left in plain sight. Almost like someone wanted us to find it"
The man that was holding her file scanned through it very briefly, it was a combination of what they'd found in the warehouse and previous files from the police department. "Okay boys, I'll go speak with her, she'll probably rip you guys to shreds" he prodded at the other men as he made his way towards the door with the file under his arm.
Hearing the movement of a handle, Madison quickly looked to see a stranger in a uniform entering "Hey, I don't wanna sound cliche, but I'm gonna. What the hell's going on, where am I, and why the hell are my hands in buckets of water? Try to make me piss my pants in my sleep?" she asked, the last question sarcastic. "Because there's no need I'll do that when I'm awake" she taunted. Madison's verbal defense was sarcasm and being rhetorical, always had been and always would be.
"You're hands are in the buckets so you don't try to burn anyone" he explained. "We found a file outlining all your meta-human abilities, fire being one, hence the buckets" he said, gesturing towards them with his pen before taking a seat opposite her. "Batman had been tipped off by an anonymous phone call, coincidentally that person had been tipped off too. By a man I've been told you know, Mr. Smith"
Madison's face showed an evident confusion. She knew all to well who Mr. Smith was, after all her and Wade had tracked him down before Wade killed him. It wasn't the person she was confused about, more the why he had tipped off someone about her and why did this mystery person call the cops? Before Madison had a chance to say anything the man opened the file and began to read from it.
"Says here you've attacked over 100 men, killed at least five men, and two women"
"They were acts of self defense. Look I spoke to officers many times about those incidents, I was cleared, free to go. They're obviously not the sole reason I'm here so spit it out would you?" Madison really wasn't in the mood for any of this, with everything that had already gone on today, it was all becoming a little much.
