Unassailable Destinies

Chapter Eight

Rick took the extinguisher looking at it and then to Madison who simply smirked and shrugged playfully. "I hope you ain't gonna make me use this, now c'mon" he said, nodding his head out the door before walking out into the hallway.

(FWB) Honestly, pretty ballsy of Flag, but also pretty respectful. It was just me and him, I could have done absolutely anything, but I wasn't going to. There was camera's all around this place, guards probably doing rounds and doors I wouldn't be able to get through on my own. Running from, hurting, or killing Rick wouldn't do anything to my advantage, probably end up screwing me in the long run actually (EOFWB)

Following Rick out of the room she then began to walk alongside him as he lead the way, fire extinguisher by his side. "I'm guessing Waller is going to think you're pretty stupid for doing this" 

"Only if you screw me over" 

"Nah I don't screw men I've just met" she teased. 

(FWB) Fun to tease, but that was very, very ironic of me to say because in the past that was exactly type of thing I did (EOFWB)

"This is your idea of building trust huh? Going for a stroll with a total stranger, that's locked in Belle Reve and is a meta-human as you call it?" 

"Out of all the people I've heard of that are in here you seem the most reasonable, building trust could be a good idea" Rick explained as they turned the corner and saw two guards stood up ahead at a doorway. Madison had an off feeling about things, she didn't know why, but it seem odd to her, then again she wasn't in any position to start questioning. As they made their way down the hall, Madison was taken out of her thoughts about the fishy situation when she heard extra footsteps. From further down the hall and off to the left a group of men exited, walking with them a man Madison had come to find amusing, Floyd. 

"Hey buddy" she chimed, Floyd nodding in response as she and Rick made their way over to the group, of which Griggs was a member. Without a word Rick handed the extinguisher back to Griggs then moved to withdraw out the open door that lead to the rainy, dull outside. Madison continued to keep her place walking briskly beside Flag and he showed the way to a shooting range of sorts. 

"Stay there" he ordered Madison pointing behind one of the two tables, to which she gave a playful salute, before Flag stood next to Waller waiting until Floyd and the others approached. 

"Hey, why ain't you cuffed?" Floyd jested as he saw Madison's hands were sat freely by her sides.

"Guess I'm just special" she satirized before her observation shift to the two tables, on the one to her side was just filled with an assortment of guns. Looking to hers she saw guns too, but also there was other items like various knifes and two weapons that particularly caught her eye; a bow and arrow, and a crossbow. 

"Alright, unlock him" Flag instructed, his voice bringing Madison's attention back from the tables.

"What?" Griggs asked, surprised that for the second time cuffs were to be void off use on a prisoner.

"You heard me"

"You know what this man can do?" Griggs quizzed, eyes wide.

"I'm here to find out, lose the restraints" Flag repeated, gesturing to the restraints as he spoke of them.

"Oh please do" Madison chortled with a smirk. It was evident Floyd had built up a much bigger vendetta against Griggs with all the time he'd spent in the prison. She was curious to see what may or may not happen when his hands were free, plus the look on Griggs face was a bonus.

"What is this, uh cheerleading try outs?" Floyd asked as he looked over at Flag.

"Let's go, let's see what you can do" he nodded. "Both of you" he added, addressing Madison as he looked over to her. "They say you've never missed a shot, prove it" he challenged, folding his arms over his chest as he spoke to Floyd directly again.
