Stiles woke to Teresa staring over him with her eyebrows knit together. He groaned his thoughts swirling with confusion. His head throbbed with the memories of Derek biting and turning him into a werewolf. How could he tell Teresa what he was when he knew for a fact she'd kill him right then and there. She helped him sit up and he rubbed at his head hoping the pain would go away soon.

"What happened?" She spoke with one eyebrow raised.

"I-I can't remember." He lied and luckily for him she didn't catch on.

"We need to get back to base." She pulled him up still starring at his neck.

"I can't-"

"I won't leave without you." She huffed.

"Teresa, i have unfinished business." His eyes narrowed and Teresa had never seen him so determined.

"But-"

"Go!" He roared feeling his pulse quicken.

She hesitated and then completely ignored his request. He growled and then suddenly stopped himself not believing what he has become. He looked down at his hands that had claws where his nails used to be and his vision seemed to see fields he never knew even existed. Teresa was looking at him with wide eyes and her mouth gaping.

His head spun again with the sudden realization that he couldn't return to school to his home. He was stuck in Beacon Hills and he wasn't entirely upset about it like he thought he would be. In fact he was content with the idea of staying with his dad, but being a werewolf. Could he really handle that? He needed to speak to Derek and soon. What he feared he had become was not so as scary once he realized he could finally stay home.

"Where's Minho and Newt?" He ran a hand through his hair.

Finally calming down. The claws retracted and his vision was no longer sharper than usual.

"Th-the wolves have them." Teresa's voice caught.

"Get back to base and I'll get the others." He slowly stood up and Teresa looked ready to argue, "that was an order!"

She nodded and sprinted out of the shell of a house. He cracked his neck and started to slowly makes his way back to Derek's loft. He had a bone to pick with the alpha.

The hunters dragged their feet and Derek was close to throwing them off a cliff instead of returning them to their base camp. Scott limped beside him dry blood stained his shirt and a glob of what looked like mud was smeared on his jeans. Derek hated that he had let his guard down and he knew that killing them would do none of them any good. Taking them back was the next best thing.

Minho wiggled in Derek's hold grunting and groaning while doing so. Derek tightened his grip and made sure he couldn't get away. The rest of the pack followed behind him all looking equally pissed and exhausted. The moon glowed above them now casting eerie shadows across their faces. With dry blood resting a majority of their faces it made them seem as if they had just committed a crime late at night.

The hunter's base finally came into view and Derek couldn't wait to get rid of them. He walked up to the front door almost casual if it weren't for the bloody beaten hunter in his hands. He buzzed the doorbell and not a minute later men and women with guns surrounded him and pack.

A women with luscious blonde hair and striking blue eyes walked out in a pencil skirt and a blouse. Her laugh lines had turned into frown lines and the creases on her forehead hadn't surprised Derek in the slightest, but what did surprise him was the four large gashes that rested across her face perfectly healed but painfully obvious.

Derek threw Minho at her feet and Scott threw Newt straight after.

"Continue to hunt us and we will kill your best hunter." Derek finally spoke.

She raised an eyebrow, "and why would I care to bargain with a monster?" She shrugged.

"Does his life mean nothing to you?" Derek scoffed, "of course not hunters are heartless I forgot."

"His life is valuable but not replaceable." She looked at her nails seemingly bored.

He could tell she was bluffing just by the smallest spike in her heart rate. A much more inexperienced wolf would not have caught that, but he knew better.

"Then we will keep him for the rest of his days as leverage of course." Derek backed away.

She looked at him her eyes reading him, "how did you-"

"Do we have a deal?" Derek cut her off.

She stood silent for a moment all the others staring at her for an answer.

"He'd be no use to us with you we should just let him die." One of her soldiers shouted but she ignored him.

"We have a deal." She nodded and Derek nodded back.

They walked off hoping to never have another encounter with the hunters again. Scott looked over at Derek with tired eyes and Derek understood. He needed to find Stiles and sort everything out whether the new wolf wanted to or not.

Stiles sat at the steps of the loft ready to talk whether the alpha wanted to or not. He needed to understand how to control himself and his new found power. He tapped his foot impatiently biting at one of his nails. He could hear footsteps in the distance and his heart sped up not sure how to approach the alpha. He knew he just really needed to talk.

Derek came into view his shoulders sagging and his hair messy. Stiles stood up and opened his mouth to speak, but Derek walked past him and opened the loft door leaving it open so Stiles could join him. Stiles entered and shut the door behind himself and opened his mouth again but Derek beat him to the chase.

"Can we talk about it tomorrow?" Derek looked over at him stripping off his shirt.

"I need to know everything." Stiles didn't bargain.

"Fine can we at least lay down and talk?" Stiles suddenly agreed also feeling exhausted.

Derek took his hand and dragged him towards his bed making sure they both could be comfortable. Stiles rested his head on Derek's chest and Derek wrapped his arm around Stiles holding him close. They both stayed staring at the ceiling enjoying the silence.

"Why'd you do it?" Stiles whispered.

"Honestly?"

Stiles nodded.

"At first it was to save my pack but after I realized you were my mate." Derek murmured.

"What if I died?" Stiles looked up at Derek is eyebrows knit together.

"You wouldn't have." Derek hummed, "you're too strong."

Stiles hummed looked back up at the ceiling.

"Are you going to stay?" Stiles could hear Derek's heart skip a beat.

"Yes."

Derek smiled and with that he shut his eyes and brought Stiles closer. Stiles huffed and slowly felt himself drift to sleeping knowing he was going to be okay.
