Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you're not alone
'Cause I'm going to make this place your home...

I swing my arm over my head and hit the 'stop' button on my phone's alarm. Yay, time to get ready for the first day of my junior year in high school. Note the sarcasm.

"Amzie! Are you awake?" Bentley, my older brother, yells from down stairs. "I can't be late to my first day of college because of your lazy ass!"

"I'm up! Calm down, and language please!"

It's not that I hate cussing or anything like that, but I sure don't like it at 7 in the morning. Okay, okay, so maybe I don't cuss but I really don't have a problem with other people cussing. I also just like to irritate my brother.

I look over at the clock, 7:15 am. That means I have 30 minutes left until we have to leave. I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth, wash my face, and go pee of course. I decide to wear ripped black skinny jeans with a blue floral top and a white lacy bralette under. Now just a little fact about me, and really I'm not bragging, more like complaining-I am a size 32DDD. So I have to wear a real bra under my bralette so it basically just covers the bra. I tap my fit bit, 15 minutes left. I apply some BB cream, powder and mascara. My brown hair is naturally as straight as a board so I just brush it and call it good. I grab my black toms, spray on my favorite perfume, and put in my diamond stud earrings. They are fake, but look real enough to me. And plus I think they bring out my hazel eyes. I look in the mirror and don't hate the result so I head down stairs.

"And finally the princess is ready." Bentley says as I roll my eyes. He runs his hands through his dark brown hair and squints his blue eyes at me. Yes, I am jealous my brothers got the blue eyes, and the height. He is over 6 feet and I'm barley 5'4'' on a good day.

"Whatever, can you hand me a peach please?" Bentley tosses me the peach and we head out to his car. I am sixteen, so I do have my license but no car, yet. We get in his dark blue 2014 Toyota Tundra. And we head to school, ugh even the word bores me. Bentley turns on the radio and I sign along.

I guess I should explain what I mean when I say sign along. Well, when I was fourteen I really wanted to learn American Sign Language. So I looked it up and the community college near me offered classes and certifications in it. So I have been taking it for two years and am fully fluent and a certified ASL interpreter. I was very young to be certified, but the women in charge of the program said that I had a natural knack for it, or she would have made me wait until I was eighteen to be certified. I interpret at my church on Sundays but I really just loved the language. I don't plan to be an interpreter for my career, but I do plan to use it. It is definitely one of my passions.

"Amzes, we're here, get out."

"Oh right, sorry. Thanks for the ride. Are you picking me up or will mom?"

"Mom's flight doesn't get in until 2, so if she gets home in time then she will. I get out of class today at 11 so it may be me." Bentley says as I get out of the car and lean in the window. My Mom's job takes her on business at least once a month for normally a week. My Dad's job takes him on business for a few days every week. So it is rare when both of them are home together but when they are its the best.

"Okay thanks Bent, and good luck with your first day of college." And with that he speeds away. Let's do this junior year.

With my grey backpack from Pink on my back and my phone in my hand I head inside to my locker. In my high school we have orientation a week before school starts so I already know my lock and schedule for this semester.
