Chapter 17

'Help me, I've lost myself
In views of what others want me to be;
I have no idea who I am anymore.
But I keep on going,
Getting even more lost in my mind;
Not even knowing where I am
Or what I will be'

Percy's POV
I woke up and yawned to have the suns rays shine into my room.
This is the first time in a long time that I've slept until the sun shines.
"You wake Percy?" Jason asked.
I looked outside from my tent to see the others around a small camp fire with food.
"I'm awake" I said, "Hang on"
I quickly got a black 'Star labs' sweater on with ripped denim jeans and black converse.
...what, I like the Flash!
I chuckled to myself as I thought about the Flash, I actually wish I was the Flash, with super speed and only metahumans after you...but instead I'm spiderman...well was Spiderman.
"Percy!" Jason said.
"Coming!" I snapped.
I got out the tent and with a click of my finger I packed it and it formed a tiny folded piece of cloth, which I put in my pants pocket.

"What some?" Leo asked, motioning some bacon.
I shake my head.
"Not hungry" I said.
I notice Annabeth looking at me but I ignored her.
I can't believe she's letting the venom win!
She's stronger than this!
"Percy" Peter said slowly.
"What?" I snapped, looking at him.
"Your other eye is red" he muttered.
I sighed and walked off to a tree.
I lent my head against it and closed my eyes, taking deep breaths to calm down.
"Someone should talk to Percy" Gwen said.
I don't want anyone to talk t-
"Maybe you should since you're his new girlfriend!" Annabeth snapped.
"Annabeth, not now" Jason said "Just leave him alone"
"No one likes to be alone!" Annabeth said "Especially under the venom, you know that Jason!!"

"Annabeth" I said, catching their attention "Alone is what I have; alone protects me"
"Did he just quote from Sherlock and is wearing a Star labs sweater?" Leo whispered, probably to Alex.
"Alone doesn't protect you!" Annabeth yelled "I do!"
"Annabeth, stop pretending to be my bodyguard" I said "I'm a big boy now, I can protect myself"
She growled.
"Annabeth, just let him-"
"No Piper" Annabeth said "I'm tried of this!! Percy got the venom out of Flash why can't he do it to me?!?!"
I sighed, annoyed.
"You're pride is getting to you" I said "Apollo said himself but I'm going to repeat it; the venom is acting like your blood which will make it harder to get it out without hurting you"
"I don't care!" She snapped.
"Well I do!" I said, opening my eyes and looking at her "I might not act like I care but I am!! I am working on a cure for the fucking thing I created!!! You don't know what I'm going though at the moment: the world could be ending because of me because of the-"
I stop.
I can't tell them that the world is still in danger.
"Percy, why is the world in danger? We saved it" Jason said.
I stayed silent.
I looked at Annabeth who's eyes are slightly red.
"Don't be like that!" She yelled, standing up.
I smirked.
"Like what princess?" I said, leading against the tree.
"You are a hero!" She said, walking to me "And. Don't. You. Say. Otherwise"
I rolled my eyes
"I am no hero Annabeth, I'm not even close; I am an idiot, that's what I am!" I said.
"Doctor who!" Alex said "Who knew Percy was such a fanboy"
"Are you in hufflepuff?" I asked her.
"I am actually!!" Alex said.
"Me too!" Leo said.
"Gryffindor" Piper said.
"Gryffindor" Jason said.
"Ravenclaw" Peter said.
"I'm Ravenclaw too" Gwen said.
"I'm Slytherin" I said, shocking the others "What about you Annabeth?"
"Ravenclaw" she said "But that's not the point, the point is-"
"To move on" I said "Before you get pissed and go all angry Athena crazy on us and camp halfblood"
She growled at me and say down again leaving silence.
"Wait...if you created the venom...then why are you effected by it?" Alex asked.
"Because I am" I said "It's in the past now so-"
"What I don't get is why did you create it?" Jason said.
"Nyx made-"
"Nyx told us it was all you" Gwen said "And your purple eye were a side effect of surviving the snake lake; why did you create it?"
I sighed.
"I created it...because I knew that life would get too hard for me" I said "So I created it because I knew that 'web or water' will haunt me for the rest of my life so I created a formula which would split personalities; if they don't have two identities then they'll have a voice in their head telling them negative thoughts"
The others gasp.
"So all of this started because you were selfish?" Piper asked "Is this what a leader-"
"Then I guess I'm not the leader you're looking for" Percy said coldly "Sorry I didn't fit the bill"
