"Death?" Jack walks over to her, "I always thought Death was a tall, scary skeleton in a dark cloak with a scythe."
"Most people think that but, nope, I'm a beautiful woman with black wings, the angel of death," she says.
"I don't get why the other guardians wanted to keep me away from you," he says.
"So you wouldn't find out the horrible truth about me, everyone fears me but they usually never see me until it's their time to die," Death replies in her soft voice.
"And that night when I saw you..." Jack trailed off.
"You died and your soul was supposed to turn into a soul butterfly but it instead turned into the spirit of winter, A.K.A. Jack Frost as you are now. I've been around since the beginning of time, I've seen every spirit come into existence along with all guardians, I've seen all of their deaths and so many more," Death says before standing up, "I have to go but you'll probably see me around and you should go console Jamie, he'll be pretty sad when he finds out the news," she says then spreads her wings and flies off.
"Wait, what do you mean by that?!" he calls after her.
He sighs, seeing her disappear, he tides the wind to Jamie's house to find him mourning on his bed.
"Jamie, hey, what's up?" Jack asks, coming in through the window.
Jamie sniffles and wipes his eyes, "Melanie is gone, she died," he says.
Jack sits next to the boy, "It's alright, I'm sure Death took good care of her."
"Wait, you've met Death? What is he like?" Jamie asks.
Jack chuckles, "Actually, Death is a girl, she's kind and soft, I spoke to her a little while ago and she's nothing to be feared. Here," he creates a small ice statue of Death to show Jamie, "she looks like this."
